This is HARD to FIND AM2 processor in tray package. For only $73 (before tax) you get a 2ghz 4000 x2 with 2 x 1MB AM2 (ADA4000IAA6CS).

Usually the processor's price are between $370 to $450. The s/h is free if you don't mind 7 to 12 days worth of waiting.

Despite its' ratings status at BBB, the online store has poor reseller's ratings.

Buy it at your own risk.

350+ normally? Maybe two years ago.
1mb of extra cache is not worth the extra money and risk. Definitely a cold deal.

That link you posted has 2x512kb and it's everywhere. But the one I posted has 2x1MB. Try to find this processor with low price.

Yea, but it is also 100MHz faster. From what I have seen they are the same performancewise.

in amd chips cache doesnt matter very much due to the on board memmory controller...

thus equal performance can be achieved with lower cache.

making this deal about as cold as it is outside (and its freakin' cold)

Cold as dog poop on a cold winter morning..

The extra cachhe does absolutely nothing on benchmarks, especially with such a low clocked chip. The extra 100MHz of the 512Kx2 would be more of a benefit than this.

Dang guys, dont bite his head off. That is 90nm so im guessing its a windsor. The 65nm ones you see all have less l2 and perform worse clock for clock on top of that because the l2 is also slower.

Actually, for some processes, the extra cache makes a difference. Folding@Home SMP is one prime example.
