AGEIA official forum

It begins...

I don't know if I should laugh or cry; on one hand there is finally a official location to bring together user experience and information on the PPU, where Ageia staff can finally respond to criticism and provide some much needed developer to consumer PR. On the other hand every anti Ageia troll on the Internet knows were to go.

I don't understand why this anti-ageia movement. Nobody forces them to buy the card.
The card is now very cheap, and if it brings more realism to the games, why not have one.
People invest hundreds of dollars building a computer but are too dam cheap to buy an ageia card.

Pass by the forum and leave your opinions, even the bad ones :)

They are afraid of the PPU becoming a standard; one more component on top of the CPU, GPU, Sound Card, Motherboard, Power Supply and so on that they will have to regularly spend money on. Both CPU and GPU methods don't require buying anything outside of what they already routinely upgrade, which is far more appealing to them than having to go out of their way for another component.

So they accuse the PPU as being everything from weaker than the multi-core and on GPU physics methods, refer to games like Crysis and Alan wake as proof it is not needed, to as far as calling it a scam to trick people out of their money. Anything to deter others from adoption, because even if it doesn't affect them now it could in the future if the PPU takes off.

That's my guess.

After looking at the UT3 video I can't help but think that gameplay affecting physics doesn't mesh well with the UT style. I think a slower game could really make use of destroyable buildings though :)
Cool stuff at any rate.

I've had the ppu for agggggggges now and its about time they made a forum, as being cut off from buyers and prospective buyers was only a bad thing for ageia, now that they have a forum where ppu owners can goto to keep upto date with any news or whatever I can only see that as a good thing for both the ppu owners and prospective buyers and also Ageia itself.

Ford Sucks, Apple make shitty products, can't believe people still drink budweiser...

Oh and let's not forget the guy that installs the special part in every items so they break down after a certain amount of time! :D

Uninformed people, out of context sentences, generic review, yes I'm biased I'm human!

It isn't because Physix PPU is unusable in a true (non lan) internet enviroment and since most people play games online it doesn't have a purpose until we all have phat fiber optic pipes?

Nicely said. I don't see a logical reason why people are trying to fight the PPU from progressing either.

That why Epic puts SP in it's online game because a lot of the masses playes offline with bot's. So there is a market for singleplayer games. Online fans don't see that.
Mass effect is one.
Epic try's to reach the masse market.

And I mostly play SP games
