Crysis too easy?

Now before everyone kills me, I haven't played the entire campaign. What i'm speaking about is the demo.

Every part of the Demo was pretty darn easy on Hard mode. Duck, cloak, head shot, duck. Rinse repeat. If things get a little crowded, cloak, duck, wait till people walk over you then run away. You can even just run at singular NK's and they won't even blink until you've gotten straight up to them.

Now don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, but i'm worried that it's going to be too easy. Can anyone who has the full version verify this or not? And what are people's opinions on the matter? How did you find the Crysis demo?

The demo was pretty easy. I wished they added the health pack system like in farcry rather then the nanosuit healing you. The dumb AI doesn't help either.

I'm playing it in Delta mode, it's not extremely difficult, you just gotta cloak and hide a little bit more especially when there's a NKP helicopter in the air. I just wish the cloak lasted a little bit longer.

But cloak and hide pretty much sums up a large portion of the game, so far..

Yeah, pretty much. I'm playing on 3 out of 4 difficulty, and have pretty much strolled through the game so far.

I'm pretty sure it hits retail shelves on Wednesday so I doubt anyone has it. The thing with Crysis is, even after you beat it once, you'll want to play it many times again. Like, what i'll probably do it like where I have to finish the game only using one mode, or none at all, or going different routes to complete objectives...

I did the same with Farcry. I've already played the Crysis demo at least 10 times. It never gets old. There always seems to be something new.

I would say the AI is more buggy than easy, they work togeather but make really stupid decisions on what to do. It gets really bad later on in the game.

Well, I agree that bad AI is making them easy. But its the AI where they must improve to make this game more challenging. They can simply give them god like accuracy but that would not be fun anymore. Intelligent challenge is better than brute force challenge.

Anyway I hope the difficulty with the "aliens" would be balance out though. In FarCry, the human AI are always more easier than fighting trigens, which I think is more brute force challenging, almost 1 hit KO, rather than being smart.

I wouldn't call it totally easy specially when you have to empty out a clip to get a 1 guy down.

It is all about the head shot with this game. My favorite approach is steal with two silience pistols. You can spank the game with head shot accuracy. Play as if you cannot make a head shot then dont bother shooting .

I find it particulary entertaining rushing the wall cloaked with two silenced pistols or a shotty instead of nading the guys as suggested in the game. 3 seconds and all are dead and your on the way to the boat unless you want to go up the hill to the right by the tower for more carnage.

m-1701 or which ever the most common rifle is with the 2x sniper scope makes the game quite easy.

The reviews on Gamespot and IGN make it sound like the first level is sort of like a training level to get familiar with everything.

After that, it sounds like it picks up in difficulty quite a bit.

ide imagine it could be quite difficult if you have to use all of the suit elements to their max to get through certain parts.

also im waiting for someone to implement a buttet time suit mode. would be fun.

Or you could say that pistols are more leathal than rifles in the game which is a gaping error in modeling. I found out that the only way to kill with 1 shot was to pistol them, either from close or from distance. The rifle accuracy should be 2x or more compared to the pistol.

The game modeling is a big stinky joke.

the demo part is very easy compared to the rest

you'll come accross enemy camps of around 20 or 30 soldiers, and it's pretty hard to get past them on Delta, especially if you engage one of them.

that kind of stuff is impossible after the first level

that would be friday the 16th

keep in mind the demo is the first level of the game

are other FPS games insanely hard on their first level (which also functions as training)?

Headshots after the first level is not impossible nor is it difficult its just a matter of timing, making sure your silencer is on and within range to actually hit the target.

even if you're perfect at it, it's almost impossible to get past a camp of 20 Korean soldiers. these bastards cover the ground very well.

Crysis made me think of something : if in the future video games get even more realistic, they'll make no sense. I mean, it's pretty obvious one person can't win a war all by himself.
or they'll have to add some very powerful nano suits.

With a camp of 20 you find yourself sniping then running then charing then running then sniping and repeat haha but sometimes it does become overwhelming.

My preorder shipped, the preorders were released today. I will have mine on the 15th

depends what sort of weapons they start having. machine guns and pistols are one thing, but if they have a heli and a tank in the area? or someone sniping? the gauss gun makes for fun sniping.

Choppers suck! They attack you to fast and unless you got a missle launcher your SOL

The demo's engineered (I don't know intentionally) to start easy, then gradually get more difficult. I fuckin' loved it tbh. Especially the amount of ways they give you to approach an outpost. Can't wait for the real thing. :D

I actually agree, Crysis is flat out to easy because of the cloaking mode playing on "Hardcore". Just hide and wait for them to find you and kill them one after the other with a small series of retreats.

Not using the cloak will change the difficulty substantially which is what I will do for a second run.

Just change all of the AI attributes in the sandbox lol

Insanely hard user created awesome maps will be out, don't worry.

Oh, and as for AI so far...

Let's just say you'll be fighting some, rather harder enemies later on in the game :)

Rather intelligent, and make you smash your keyboard hard, so don't worry!

It all depends on how you play, I think. If you use the environment a lot, hide, use the suit advantage and shoot from far when the enemy doesn't have sniper rifles, for example, then yes, it'll be easier...but if you run around shooting like in most games, the AI will kick your ass, since it's above-average, flanks you and so on.

I wouldn't call it easy since most other games are easier and have much simpler AI in narrow linear levels/hallways. It's enjoyable though - I think that's the most important part. You can do all kinds of things to the environment and the AI will react accordingly - even by breaking walls and buildings to get to you. Other games on harder difficulty simply make the NPCs' aim lock onto you and they'll have no recoil, snipe you with pistols from miles away, etc. which isn't very realistic.

I just beat the game, there are some instant deaths due to bad luck, game physics glitch, and pure bad player placements by developers at times, and more deaths cause ur new to what ever that ur doing, and this was on Easy, I had to play it on this difficulty due to the fps lagness

i just took out a chopper on the.. second? third? mission against the KPA by letting it get close, then lobbing grenades on top of it while it hovered to shoot at me :D

Delta is a cakewalk with your cloak. I killed every Korean on the map without actually being spotted. I only used my pistol and tranqs.

You guys have to remember, that this is the first mission however. I'm guessing the game gets harder. Maybe some missions where cloak won't work, etc.

Absolutely not. Playing the full game on just normal is really challenging in some areas. The suit is amazing and the whole game seems really well balanced. I would have thought because of the suit it would be easy as well, but it is really well done.

I've been playing through the first couple levels on Delta (only iron sights + koreans speaking korean adds so much atmosphere). Goddamn this game gets awesome. On Delta I would say it gets nearly impossible if you play it like Quake, and challenging if you play it covertly.

I'm playing it on hard since I like having my reflex sights for the rifles, and let me tell you what, it gets much harder than that first level. I was getting bitch slapped around trying to get into the enemy cap and get the captive rescued....haha I did not even see the mine until it blew me to shreds. Then I realized they are all over the perimeter of the base....whoa.

Heh, I think I've died more times in this game than any other game before (except maybe Far Cry ), and that's on Normal mode.

Granted, I'm the type who runs in, guns blazing (it's so much more fun than just sneaking around!), and I get owned quite often. The gun fights are so ridiculously intense: explosions everywhere, bullets flying, buildings collapsing running shooting bodies flying, ah! I love it! :D

Woo, it's my birthday today and I ended up getting given Crysis full as a present (1337 giftz0r), so i'm going to go full in on delta and see if I can prove myself wrong. Hopefully it turns out to be an absolute bitch hard game.

I got to tell you guys, maybe I just suck, but damn, I am having a hard time getting the captive out of the basecamp....where in the hell did you guys enter the base at? The freaking front gates have endless respawning enemies....trying to jump a fence usually sees me getting blown the fuck up....:p
