Enough already on the 8900GT I mean 8800GT , I know it is a great performer for the money, but who cares except every non [H]ard gamer, this site is for eXtreme geeks, not for your WorstBuy or CicuitShity computer purchasers.

So where the heck is my next HIGH END card already, I mean I will be really upset if there is no 8900Ultra, or 9800GTX released soon. How the heck am I supposed to play Crysis and UT-3 @ 2560x1600rez ??

Jesus if they can make a revised 8800 into the 8800GT that runs cooler and faster, why not make an Ultra version with the same thought, a cooler and faster OC and name it 8900Ultra, and then nVidia can wait to release a 9800GTX after or close to release of R700 and see what AMD has to offer

I don't lnow about you, but I think the 8800GT is pretty high up there in performance.

Patience young padawan lol

I hope your under NDA and know something I don't, because if come December and there is no 8900Ultra or 8850GTX something faster, then blow me nVidia.

Why have a game like Crysis release knowing full well current hardware can't run the game nice, even though you had engineers help Crytek with the game engine to run on your VideoCard's

Yeah...I play at 1680x1050 all medium settings no AA and I get 60-70fps. My card is clocked at 690/1750/1060.

Enough with these fucking "wheres the new high end"? posts.

For once, I agree with you :).

I could tell you guys all about the (CENSORED: NDA), but since (CENSORED: NDA) has (CENSORED: NDA) and (CENSORED: NDA) with it, I can't really say (CENSORED: NDA) :p.

:D

I told off the G92 info once it was within a few weeks of launch... it's too early for me to talk about anything related to the (CENSORED: NDA) ;).

EDIT: Search my post history, I'd just get flamed into cinders again by posters on the forums anyway :p. Let alone (CENSORED: NDA) for talking about the (CENSORED: NDA).

LOL

seriously, this thread is nothing more than a rant.

you say this site is for extreme enthusiasts or whatever, but not all of us on here can afford top notch hardware. you might be an [H] gamer/enthusiasts but i know plenty of others on here want the most performance for the dollar. i'm pretty sure if you didn't have a GTX already, you would love to get a card that cost $250 that performs as well as a GTX. i know i would :)

Yeah last would have been nice, but in Fall '07 I expect something much faster than one year old technology

Yeah, I am waiting for next gen high end card as well.

The definition of next gen high end is the one that can beat 8800GTX x2 SLI.

I might be eXtreme but not stupid to fall for $LI

Well then you are not really "eXtreme", you are a Celine Dion poser "eXtreme."
So please STFU, take your ritalin, relax and enjoy your poser eXtreme GTX.
All will be revealed when the time comes.

Haha. That gave me a chuckle.

Some might say they're extreme, but not stupid enough to fall for a GTX. Really, it's all about how much you're willing to spend. I'm personally not prepared to spend $500 on a video card.

(I agree with you about SLI being a waste of money though).

Two SLI'd 8800GT 512's = MUCH faster than a GTX and approx. same price... tell me again about how SLI is a waste ;)?

Yeah but it only took a year for you to get cars that are better in SLI than the original card. If he had done this earlier, it would have been a true waste of money.

I can also guarantee you that the next high end will put the GT SLI to shame for the same price for a single card, as has been true with *every* new generation!

Seeing how if you do know more info and you just bought 2 8800GT, I feel comfortable with settling with my purchase of 2 8800GT for now ;)

How much faster are they?
Because it is the same price or more for the nearly the same performance, but it is TWO cards.
That is two cards sucking up more power and creating more heat then a single card for nearly the same performance; I don't think the GT with 512MB of ram in SLI is worth it.

SLI is a complete waste of money unless you are running very high resolutions and need the power to push it.

Oblivion would like to have a word with you, although it's not as graphically stunning as it used to seem.
Also, Zorachus, your insistence on high end parts when you already own an 8800GTX elevates your so called "eXtreme" dedication to troll-like levels.

Agree, also many times SLI mode doesn't kick in properly - even though SLI is activated but you are still running in single card speed. And SLI drivers for the new games are still buggy.

Which is exactly what Mr. Extreme wants to do. Did you not read the first post? He wants to play Crysis at 2560x1600. :p

This is a very fine point and is indeed the other half of the puzzle.
Drivers play a huge part in performance and stability and I would much rather have one card to deal with instead of two.

We also have seen that SLI is not an upgrade path either; most new gens come out with more performance then the two previous gen cards in SLI.

Bottom line is that SLI is pointless unless you are running very high resolutions, or you are running around with a very small dick. :p

LOL, I know, I read the post.
I was just commenting on him wanting to be Mr. eXtreme but not wanting to pay for two Ultra's; an I stating the obvious here, I hate when I do that? :p
