I was browsing 1up.com and went to PC and there was a video for this game in beta mode and it said something about diablo...now I'm a huge diablo fan so I had to click it. This game is an mmo in beta mode and looks brilliant! If anyone else has heard of this and knows how to get in the beta please share that info with me. you read some stuff on it at the website here

So this is what it would look like if Diablo and World of Warcraft had a child together. That said, I have no qualms about the possibility, looks interesting to me.
 
I read that they developed this to test the Hellgate engine, and then decided to turn it into a full game. It’s also supposed to be free to play online, but they will probably have paid upgrades too at some point.
 
duuuuuuuude... whoa.. I like it.. I like it. :) the music is so diablo.. love that! (creepy eery dungeon music)

totally... titan quest was very close.. but didn't quite do it for me.. this looks very promising. :D

Titan Quest did do it for me lol, was about to finish it on the 3rd run but bleh :p
 
I just like the Diablo/TQ item system. I don't know why, but I really do enjoy doing boss runs repeatedly to get valuable items. It's just... fun.
 
Looks really good and it has a release date of Nov. 2007! I just hope they are able to provide a decent online experience since that is where TQ failed bigtime.
 
glad to see there are diablo freaks here looking for uber rare items..lmao.....November is so close not to publicly have a beta going....
 
i hope they have an option for better shadows...

i also liked how the ranged guy was basically melee

Thank god, a Diablo II sequel. I was addicted to D2 for years, and then LOD came out that made D2 a brand new game. I want to play this game now!:D Bring November 2007.
 
The graphics look a lot like WoW with more polygons.


Until the normal gameplay of course.

I think this is gonna flop because its more of the same. I don't honestly think they can do much more with the 3rd person over the top Diablo type style game.
 
no its an mmorpg based on the diablo system..well some of it like the item system and the top down view....don't know about skills yet...it looks good to me...people will play it but as to how many i don't know i know i will
 
Anyone have a beta key they can give me? I'm jonezin' tew play some Diabl..er.. mythos. :)

Actually yes. It was originally developed for that purpose but since there was such an interest they are now completing the project. Rumor is it will be free when it releases.
 
I am so sick of this cartoony graphic trend...when are they going to make a damn mature title?
 
I’ve had my key for a few weeks now, thanks to an invite from a member here, but I could never get it to work. Now that I just build my new rig, I figured I’d give it another shot, and I got it running this weekend. I didn’t play much because I read there is a huge patch coming today with a character wipe. Hopefully I finally get to try it properly tonight.

they've been doing it for years and years, where have you been? Heard of things like Fallout, Mafia, GTA series. BG series. Many, many more games like them that are mature, and deal with mature ideas and concepts.

Tabula Rasa has about the best real-life postures and faces. Vanguard was mannequins and LoTRO was better, but TR did theirs very well.
 
Honestly, WoW and Diablo did have a child together, and its called Hellgate: London. I've been playing the beta and its pretty kickass.
 
WoW and Diablo? I think there's some milk man in that offspring also.. lol. all the techie stuff is foreign to both of them.. but yeah, large elements were pulled from those in HGL..
 
well, the dungeon areas are diablo-esque and it's mmo style like WoW is.. but that's about it.. it's very Cyber Punk... almost reminds me of Neocron 2 a little, HGL does.. but more indoorsy and with more fantacy elements..

In other news.. I got invited to the Mythos beta test.. w000000t! I guess I am under NDA now and can't talk about it.. lol. ugh!

Me too, just a couple hours ago, lol. I have work and don't get home for 10 hours though, so I have to wait till then to play it. :/
 
me also.... well, won't be home til 6 or 7pm.. GAH! I really need to GTFO of here and get my game on. lol.
 
I'm curious as to who came up with the "!" above the head idea originally. Countless games have it, this included. The earliest I remember seeing it is Diablo 2, but that was more of a comic bubble with a "!" inside it. It's these questions in life you must ask yourself.

Probably some real early RPG, back for nes or snes or something if its the same thing I'm thinking of. They used to do that when you spotted something since they were so basic as far as controls and graphics.
