The Gigabyte website only lists the GV-NX86T256D, but the manual lists:
GV-NX86T256H
GV-NX86T256D
GV-NX86T256HP
and notes that only the GV-NX86T256H/GV-NX86T256HP support HDCP. I.e. these two are not actually listed on the website, only in the manual.

the first is obvious - to add in the new ATI HD 2000 series cards

the second is to have another small list in the OP of cards that support DUAL LINK HDCP

OR make it very obvious which cards already in the list have this feature - flag them somehow

it is important for all us 30" owners because dual link is required and all but the newest cards do NOT support over dual link DVI, only single link.

The entire ATI HD 2000 series - well at least their product pages suggest that all handle dual link HDCP (though the 2400 series only has one dual link dvi port, not 2 like the 2600 and 2900 series) AND of course this may still be up to the manufacturer.

I looked through my list and identified the cards that do have dual link by highlighting them
in lime green.
 
Arent all HD 2900 XTs dual link HDCP as well? according to their product page on ATI that would be yes (and also true for 2600 and 2400 series)

how can one tell which 8600 GTs have it?

You are correct about the HD 2000 series.

I think that all HDCP ready 8600 GTs have dual link HDCP.
 
ohh crap I didn't know the XFX 8500GT could do HDCP I went all the way up to the 8600GTS XXX because I needed the support :( it wasn't listed on their website at all. On the link you sent me and on one newegg review (not the most trustworthy place) it says it does though. I hate content protection its such a mess.

Yes, part of the spec for the 8600GTS is that it supports HDCP I think its built in, where as on the other ones it would need a separate crypto chip.
 
I added the HD 2600 and HD 2400 series to the list. I will add Newegg links once they are on sale.
 
Well, just got off the phone with XFX support. They said NONE of their 8600GT or 8500GT cards are HDCP. The referenced gpureview.com list is wrong according to them.

Does anyone have testing to prove otherwise?

I'm looking for a non GTS version with HDCP...

I can't say that I'm terribly happy with it. It was a big sluggish playing HD-DVD even with AVIVO enabled in PowerDVD.

On a side note, I've noticed that most current cards that have HDCP support also require massive (350 Watt+) power supplies. It would sure be interesting to me, someone who has a media center PC with a puney 300W power supply to know the available cards that don't have such strict requirements as the GeForce 7950s or the current GeForce 8000 series cards. Knowing nVidia, they're probably going to release some budget 8300/8600 cards that will have HDCP and PureVideo HD but they're probably a few months away at best.

Now, I'm really confused. Not one VisionTek X16XX-series card (not their own or the ones they make for ATI) requires more than a 350W PSU (you are reading that correctly; the ATI-branded X1650 Pro AGP, which is only available in a 512 MB configuration, is actually manufactured by VisionTek for AMD, and says so right on the back of the box). I have one, and am taking no *points* off AMD for that, as the card is good regardless, and directly replaced my AIW 9700 Pro (which actually was built by ATI), and by directly replaced, I mean *using the same Molex and all*. The sixty-four knut question is since the X1600 Pro in AGP/256 MB trim is HDCP compliant, does the same apply to their 512 MB X1650 Pro/XT AGP cards (not only their VisionTek-branded models, but even the ATI-branded models like mine)?

Because of the identical power requirements, I can (and will) honestly recommend the X1650 series as direct replacements for any R3xx (9600/9700/9800) AGP graphics card getting long in the tooth, HDCP or not. (If they also happen to support HDCP as well, all the better!)
 
In an SLI system, if one card is HDCP compliant (display connected) and one isn't, will the entire setup be recognized as HDCP compliant?

I don't know if this is still being updated, but...

AIW X1900 PCIe is HDCP compatible, and runs DL-DVI. I just don't know if it'll run HDCP over DL-DVI.

Also, AMD 690G chipset supports it.
Asus M2A-VM HDMI runs 1080p over HDMI cable, or 2560x1600 over DVI (IOW, DL). Obviously supports HDCP.
 
Does anyone know any details about the interesting little development by ASUS of a 8600GT with audio-out over DVI-to-HDMI?

That the ATI 2xxx cards do audio-out over DVI-to-HDMI has been trumpeted as a key advantage of the red over the green.

I thought that ATI did this directly from the GPU ... so how's it being done on this new ASUS card?

Newegg and the GPUreview list are not necessarily right. I'm in the process of returning a MSI 8600GT OC (MSI NX8600GT-T2D256E OC) to Newegg because it doesn't really have HDCP despite the Newegg and GPUreview list confirming it did. Of course MSI originally claimed it had HDCP also too and has since revised the product page, so... Caveat Emptor.

This would have been so much simpler if nVidia had done what ATI did and put HDCP in all their latest generation products instead of repeating history again. :eek:
 
i have been kind of ticked off about my x1950 pro. the box has a huge HDCP ready sticker on it, the card itself has an HDCP ready sticker on it. but it DOES NOT support HDCP. read around, there are A LOT of x1x00 series cards like this.
 
the whole purpose of hdcp is try and play HD DVD's and/or blu-ray from the PC if you have a hdcp display. well, i just bought myself a westy 37" lately that has the latest 1.11 firmware that should've resolved any hdcp handshake issues and i know it works cause my cable STB has hdcp and it works with the display via dvi.

i've tried both visiontek x1950pro 256mb agp and currently running x1900xtx 512mb pcie, again another one that proclaims hdcp. neither has worked in my favor even though i have everything else that is proper. i've had to resort to anydvd hd to make it playback (which does work).

thus, i think this sort of list should be revised with user FEEDBACK on which cards actually work or not by downloading this:

and also trying to successfully playing it back. once have a nice number of people who have verified it is actually working, that's when you make the list reflect that. that way, this list is useful.
 
The release notes for the 163.71 WHQL drivers state the following:
