Sharp Aquos 37" 1080p woes

I bought this display through futureshop for $1699 cdn around four months ago. After the first two months a dead pixel appeared, then another, then another...I now have 5 dead pixels along the bottom of my panel, about an inch up into the screen. Due to Sharp's awesome dead pixel policy. I am SOL. The funny thing is, if I turn the panel off then on again once, 4 of the 5 dead pixels dissapear. Hmmmm. Its a minor annoyance but solves most of the problem, any idea why this is happening?

I'm running in full 1080p through an HDMI cable -->HDMItoDVI converter-->crossfire dongle.
And yes the dead pixels are still there whether its my dvd player or computer outputing video.

You know what they say, the larger the panel, the more prone to defects the panel is. I think people who buy LCD tv's traditionally don't notice the few dead pixels because they aren't up as close to the screen as us who use the screen with the computer.

I have a Sharp 32GP1U and it does have a few dead pixels, but they're tolerable. I don't think there are going to be any 100% perfect lcd screens marketed for tv viewing though. It's not in the cards as they say.

sorry "dead" was probably the wrong description.
What I'm experiancing with my lcd is pixels that are stuck white. I assumed these were dead.
I have tried a few pixel fixing programs, you know, the ones that are siezure inducing. they only acomplished giving me a headache.
So far the best fix has been to simply restart the display, just strange to me that this happens. I have 4 pixels that are sometimes stuck and sometimes not.

why dont you sabotage the display so it gets replaced?

I havent found an aquos since 2006 that had a dead pixel at the store I work at (temporarily... cant stand it)

The first sharp display I got had 12 dead pixels. I filed for a return. This one only has 4 dead pixels. Sharp doesn't allow you to return it unless you have over 8 or more dead/stuck pixels.

Needless to say, exchanging and exchanging displays in a PITA. I can live with 4 stuck pixels and accept it as a natural occuring defect in many mass produced displays today.

Hell, even the manual that came with the sharp display said "stuck pixels are NORMAL due to the screen size"

I'm aware that there are many displays that may be flawless, but I bet a good amount of those tv's probably do have small defects such as dead pixels that aren't noticed because people are viewing from a distance rather than up close.
