Petition Microsoft to add mouse and keyboard support to the XBox 360

I thought it did support a keyboard for filling in information. Anyway that is one shitty petition.

I'm sure you'll seesome online rpgs support keyboards, hell I think I remember seeing a addon that connected to the controller. As far as mouse support goes for fps I don't think you will see it.
 
I don't want Mouse and Keyboard support for the 360. If that was implemented then everyone would need to use it. The best thing about the 360 is that it's a level playing field. Everyone uses the same controller. I would no longer be able to relax on my couch and play online games. I would get decimated by people using the mouse/keyboard. If you want that, just stick with your PC.

I thought team xtender made one called XFPS or something. Yea I know it is not offical but it goes give people that edge.

My friend has one of those. They don't work very well. It's pretty much easier to use a controller than that thing.
 
Well, if they ever DID add a keyboard and a mouse, then we could call it a computer and maybe end the countless "Which is better" threads here... :)
 
I won't vote for it because if I want to play KB/M games, I'll boot up my computer.

I like the level playing fields of consoles.

I think the one time it worked that I heard of was for Bioshock Collector's edition. They actually stated if they get so many signatures they will release one.
 
Sorry, but using a keyboard and mouse while I'm sat on my sofa is just wrong. Not all of us have their 360s on a desk.

I also don't have my 360 at a desk, but having the best tools available is more fun.

It really is no trouble at all to throw my keyboard on my lap and a mouse on the arm of my chair. Shooters were made to be played a certain way, it's silly to play with a crippled control method.

See, that's just all sorts of wrong and uncomfortable. If I want to play a twitch fps I'll do it on my PC. Controllers are just fine for playing your average console FPS.

Totally agree on this. Playing Fps on my 360 with the controller is like driving on ice. There are plenty of console players that thinks they play just as well on the controller as mouse/kb. Forcing people to use analog only is gay. Fps is make to be play on mouse/kb. You are handicapping people by forcing analog stick up their asses. All they need is an Option on the server side for mouse/kb. ON or OFF. sort of like friendly fire. You have the option of joining the server or not. If you think you can kick ass with your controller than come on in.

Level playing field is bullshit. Next you will want to ban all the players with driving wheel in a racing game. Then you will ban all those super low ping players in fps games
 
Look, even if somehow they make KB+M support, its not going to work well. Every game is coded to accept input from a gamepad's analog sticks. This does not translate well to a mouse. The way they would have to implement it would probably mean turning the mouse signals into emulated gamepad signals, which would just be a mess for accurate controls. absolute position translated into movement velocity = horrible controls.
 
We are not talking about all the fps games of the past. We wanted all the NEW games that's coming out to support mouse/kb. UT3 will support mouse/kb on the PS3. I hope that's a start of more to come. I dont care if they emulate mouse support for gear of wars. its too late for those game. i want GEARS 2 to have mouse/kb. End of story

If Microsoft ever decides to support kb/mouse on 360, the game developers will follow up with kb/mouse support in their programming, so I don't see a problem there.

Not if developers did what they are doing now with cross-platform windows/360 games like Shadowrun. If they implemented something where the game would detect whether it's kb/mouse or controller and applies the "cheats" in a sense to level the playing field.

As for keyboard and mouse I say add it, but have separate rooms for mouse and gamepad players. That way you can use a mosue if you want to, and the playing field stays level on both sides.
 
I won't be signing it. One of the things I love about console gaming is you use a controller, and not a mouse and keyboard. I use a mouse and keyboard everyday at work. Though I'm also a PC gamer, more times then not I just like to sit back with a controller, and play that way.

If you just have to play with a mouse and keyboard then play the games on the PC, and forget about the consoles.
 
If I'm going to play a on a console, I'm going to stick to a controller. And besides, Microsoft will not put support out for them. It may conflict with their business plans for PC gaming.

And this only applies to the FPS community for some absurd reason. You don't see the fighting community whining about level playing field using an arcade stick over a gamepad.

Because there are ARCADE pads out for the die hards. Dead or alive 4 has a arcade pad, and one of the third parties -- pelican maybe/madcats even has an atari style joypad for 360 as wel.
 
Having 1 type of controller for a system is old-fashioned. Those who think there should just be one controller should go sit in your rocking chair and and play yahtzee with your cat.

Cars, PCs, Music equipment, etc. People like options and the ability to customize and personalize. It's only a matter of time before future gaming consoles start to support multiple control devices.

What I'd like to see is some sort of unified, flexible input code used by all of the consoles and PC so that Logitech, razer, saitek, MS could release compatible control devices whether they be mice, keyboards, controllers, that could work on any platform. They would make a lot of money not to mention the console companies involved would make a lot of money.
 
I signed, id like to not have to worry about upgrading my pc to play fps / rts games.

the devlopers would have to specify wether their title supports kb/m controls, the ones that do wouldnt be compatible with the regular xbox controler. That way everyone is still on a lvl playing field but with better kb/m controls for certain games. UT3 for instance is being designed for the kb/m support on the ps3. I think microsoft could do the same without a problem.
 
microsoft should just make a kb/m for the 360 and have all developers support it. playing FPS on a controller sucks. plus. microsoft could make more money selling a keyboard and mouse :)

How about you don't buy a xbox360 then and stick with gaming on the PC. The controller works great for sitting back on the couch enjoying video games. I don't feel like having to use a k/m or get raped online while playing on a console. Again, stick with PC gaming if you want k/m support and stfu with this dumb argument.

Why dont you shut the hell up. Getting rape with your controller? Speak for yourself, there are plenty of good controller player. If you think all console fps should be play with controller then you are the dumbass here. How you like it if i said All games should be play with controller so i dont get rape online. NO wheels for racing, no Flight stick for flying game, no arcade stick for fighting games...etc..etc... you sir are a selfish tool.

It's good to see that people are allowed to have differing opinions without getting flamed around here.
 
I like the idea of making it an option, BUT I am also in favor of game filters that allow you to play people who are using the same control scheme as you. It gives you the option of playing everyone...but also just other pad or K+M players too. Granted I'm sure people will learn to spoof that, but I'd still be in favor of some way to filter players if you want.
