Forza2

I was under the impression that they will hold it for 48hrs...maybe I'm crazy.

well screw me! wtf! i was searching the GS/EB site and couldn't find any mention of a time limit....the only other time i preordered i was there the day after it came out so the issue never came up i guess.....

damn, wonder if they would let my wife pick it up or will they tell her no because it's not in her name.....i even went in specifically a month or so ago to give them my new number to make sure i got the call, but i had no idea about a 48 hour rule.....

wait, are you saying it wont be there for sure when i get there on saturday? i preordered it, i thought that was the point of preordering, so you dont have to worry about not getting a copy.....they never even called me to say it was in to begin with!

You should be fine, but it might be good to call just in case.

This game is friggen awesome! I've heard a lot of complaints around the net that it's just Forza with a new coat of paint, but I have to disagree. Quite a few of the changes force you to accomplish as much as you can, which is better IMO. For instance, you can't sell reward cars for as much as you can bought cars. That in itself forces you to do as many different races as you can and dump a few bucks into cars you might not have thought to. Personally, I like that.

If anyone is hesitating on buying this, just do it. I literally lost track of time for about 2 hours playing it.

Don't freak out just yet! I'm not positive about that, but I seem to remember something along those lines being the case. It looks like the local Gamestops have closed for the evening (anyone on the west coast want to give em a call?) so I can't double-check. I'm sure someone will chime in with some more concrete info.

I played online for like two hours today, and i had a blast. This is a type of game that you can play online for hours to just to kill time. Its just as good as the original, and thats not a complaint. Its a sim racing game done right. In one race, we hit a sharp turn on the rattle snake logo track, can remember the name and this car in front of me hit the wall doin like 80 and his front fender flew at least 20 ft. up in the air. It has jaw dropping.

I love this game. Car customization is great. Here's my take on a Chevy Cobalt I got for free:

I don't care what you say, I can't stop laughing at the replays with this car.

LOL is overused, but damn this makes me laugh! :D

Game is amazing. Feels more like a real car than any other console driver I've ever played.

I picked it up last night and I played thru the whole evening... This game is a blast, first I played some of those arcade races and then I moved on to start a career... This thing will def hold me up till GT5... awesome game can't wait till i hit the net with this thing.

I played this for several hours last night on XBL. Even though I am noob to the racing genre, I had a total blast. I never finished higher than 4th in a race, but man was it fun.

I couldn't break myself away from racing to design a car. Saddly, I'm not going to have the chance to race much tonight.

I am loving the game, though. I started to get the racing feel back.

I hope they eventually allow G25 support, it is 200x better than the MS wheel. Aside from the bad wheel (relatively speaking) it's a sensational racing experience. I'm a total Porsche fanboy so I love building up my collection. :D

just picked up this game, and GUN...they're sitting right next to me, on my desk here, at work....damn work (4 letter word).

I went to 2 blockbusters yesterday hoping to try forza 2 out, no such luck. Best Buy had them on order, but none in stock. Gamespot had a bunch, but wouldn't sell them to me once I told them I didn't pre-order.

Any ideas when I can actually pick up a copy?

Just in case you haven't called em yet: Target, Walmart, Circuit City, CompUSA

You guys've gotta check this out. Some of these guys are way too bloody good.

Damn, some of those cars are pretty sweet!

In the original Forza the craziest I ever got was putting Ignignokt and Err on the hood of my car, giving the finger. Here's a picture, but at the time I took it I hadn't moved Ignignokt over, and added Err:

had the game pre-ordered from gamestop, got it yesterday and played it for 12+ hours haha.
i'm level 20 in the asia region and im freaking addicted!

Man i got this game, and keep in mind, this is the first realistic racing game ive played. Im more of a burnout/flatout/need for speed kinda guy. however this game blew me away. There is so many damn cars! And thanks to the driving lines the developers put in, i can still play realistically with a little assistance. And the customization! holy crap! Its actually changing parts and brands, not just the stupid packages that you get in NFS.

I still kinda suck, but ive been really itching to play it some more (only got about a hour in before i left for work) when i get home. its an amazing game.

Now ive gotta consider spending the extra money for the racing wheel.

You have to remember that games like NFS play just fine with a chase/rear bumper view but games like Forza almost need to be played with a cockpit view....even if you use a gamepad.

i've played it for 2 hours...GT is abetter game, IMO. Considering selling it...anyone?

Went to Gamestop, guy asks me if I preordered it, I said no, sells me a copy anyways.

Its funny, the exact same thing happened to me too. The shipment had just arrived, they were just un boxing it, and putting it on the shelves. I said " Can I have one of those?" He asked if I had pre ordered. I said nope, he threw me a copy , and I was on my merry way lol

they order a bunch of extra copies additional to what they had pre-orders for, no surprise

SP career mode is the best console racing I've ever played. My hands hurt after the 917 Challenge - great stuff.

MP is a trainwreck - IF you can connect to a race. Heaven forbid you're behind a router. Even with the XBL ports correctly forwarded I had to modify my NAT settings. Only game I have ever had to do that for. Don't even get me started about the worthless server browser. Apparently they hired the BF2 browser team and challenged them to outdo themselves.

MP also gifted me my first hardlock.

so whos got the wireless wheel with this? and how is it and how does it work?

I didn't care for racing games much until I purchased one last Friday. Now all I play is Forza 2.

you can also use it on the computer with the wireless gaming receiver for windows.

When I first tried I kept getting booted. Then I was able to join and play. BUT for certain friends it is so weird its not funny. Friend A I cannot play with at all. Friend B, I can only play with if he joins my party. No matter what friend A and I cannot play together at all. I don't feel like going through router settings to resolve it either.

I hated Forza 1 but I really like 2. Got one of my dream cars last night. Time to mod and tune it:

Word to the wise:

Do NOT spend 150k to completely mod out the Lingenfelter Corvette for use in the Corvette series.

The car is completely freakin' undriveable. I thought the Speed 12 in GT2 was bad. It was nothing compared to this. 150 mph burnouts when you hammer down the throttle (and this is with Avon full race tires). I fishtailed the stupid thing straight up to 190 mph on the New York Circuit.

ditto on a mazda miata ;)

Hahahah, I actually found that the Miata rocks for D class racing. I did exhaust (and possibly intake) and spent the rest on tires, weight reduction, transmission, suspension, and brakes. It comes in at 399 points and while it won't pull anything on a straightaway, it absolutely annihilates the competition in braking and handling. With the upgraded transmission, you can even gear it down quite a bit so that it's not completely pathetic in acceleration, though the top speed is around 120mph.

Did you try the racing style transmission + adjusted gear ratios? Also increasing the acceleration differential will help a bit. Tuning is the key to tame that beast :p I got the car so damn good I nearly lapped the other Lingenfelter in the NY race.

Yep, did all that. To be honest, I haven't truly adjusted to the throttle on the LIngenfelter. I figure that I can pussy it around corners enough to blow the competition away in the straights. On the NY track, that's easy to do. On the other tracks in the circuits, not so much.

But I'm not giving up, I'll give it another shot in the next few days.

I played this at a friend's house last night. My copy is now ordered. :D I just wish Logitech and Microsoft would make nice so we could have a G25 for the 360.
