I recently bought a eVGA 8800GTS 640mb. Cant complain a bit, nice upgrade from 6800GT.
Anyway I finally decided to install Ntune today to check some things out. I noticed that my clocks werent stock. 513/792 Has anyone else had this happen? Im kinda puzzled as what this could mean

nTune sucks. Uninstall that, and go get RivaTuner it's way better.

doesn't really have anything to do with his question tho, does it?

as far as the gpu clockspeed any clock setting from 509-524 (iirc) to 524 will yield an actual speed of 513mhz core 1188Mhz shader core. there's a chart of set/actual speeds in a thread on this forum somewhere...

regarding the memory i would guess that 1584 is rounded to 1600 mhz.

and yea, RT is certainly a better utility than ntune, tho that has no bearing on your results. ;)

It does in the since that, nTune is buggy and can be known for reporting the wrong info (i.e temps. speeds etc.). That is why I suggested RivaTuner.

I have the same card and it reports the same thing for me as well...even with RivaTuner. I never really thought too much about the clocks, I figured that since they're so close it wasn't a big deal. A quick google search showed that those clocks are what many people report reading...despite the reference clocks given by nVidia.

Okay I was just wondering if maybe i was special, but apparently not lol.

Thanks for the info. I will install RivaTuner soon. I just installed Ntune to check the temp on my card.

here's the actual gpu clock thresholds:
