Just out of curiosity which of these pads is better? I been using the G15, it's a pretty sweet keyboard so far only dislikes are that it's a little crowded aka small buttons, lack of support aka getting things displayed on the screen out of the box, and the volume knob should either be fixed as in a limited range of motion or if they keep it free motion get rid of the little bump marker since it doesen't have a limited range, feels stupid when it's cranked all the way up and the little bump is at the left.
Things the G15 is good at so far is being able to costumize buttons, commands and if you know what you are doing you can get special programs to display other things on the little screen such as game score and rank for non supported games.
Tell me what your G15 or Eclipse experience has been and which one you think it's best.

I own a g15 and I can't imagine the eclipse 2 having anything on it other than price maybe. But seeing how I've never owned an eclipse 2 I can't say for sure....

As far as illumination I would say they are about the same, with the Eclips you can choose for a few colors. The G15 has the LCD and some neat user written display programs for it, and the macro keys. I own the G15 and use the macros rarely, but really love the keyboard. I am looking at getting the Eclips for my HTPC as its lighted, decently priced and compact. The g15 is a pretty large keyboard. Also logitec makes a lower end model, a little smaller, no LCD, same look and illumination though, might check that one out.

G11, if your curious. Something must be telling Logitech to keep branding their highend products with G## codes.

I have a G15 and I like it. I dont use the macros since I can do the same stuff in game without having to remember more keys. I like the backlit keys since I do game at night with the lights off. The LCD is nice, I dont have any extra plugins but I use the default ones.

Doesn't the G15 have a multiple key input problem whereas the Saitek2 does not?

I had the Eclipse 2 for a few weeks... untill the T button stop responding well.
RMAed it to NewEgg
-_-

Also, it's backlight doesent really light all the keys equally. If your in the dark, some of them are still pretty hard to see.

I had a Saitek Eclipse and absolutely loved it.

Until I got a G15. It's durable, the backlit keys are bright enough, and I love the LCD and macrokeys. Right now, I have SirReal's LCD plugin, which displays CPU, Mem, time, net bandwidth, and other info. I also have a plugin for fraps and one for Evemon (Eve character skill planner).

I haven't used the macro keys in game yet, but I do assign passwords, etc, to them, so all I have to do is hit the macro and I'm in.

Thank you! I've been looking for an app to do this on my G15! This is awesome!

I'm using a G15 and I love it. I use a plugin for Trillian, and it works great integrated with WoW. Just be careful about doing multiple keystroke with delay macros, as that can get you in a lot of trouble if it appears you're botting.

Couldn't ask for a better keyboard, and it seems to have a nice SDK too.

I'm a big fan of the Eclipse II, but then again I have never owned the G15. I just can't seem to come to spending $70 on a keyboard. I even thought the Eclipse was too expensive but I got it for a gift so I'm not complaining.

+1 G15. I have one and love it to death. I'd never get a another keyboard after this one. Although I've never used the Saitek boards...

I do love my G15 but there's a few changes they could have made, have the extra macro keys in a separate board, possibly make the whole thing more square, and with less angles, and wish they keys were spread out a little more, it's a little tough on some FPS when you don't look you can make some mistakes, but I managed to get used to it. There's no vista drivers so far, im running RC1. I am asking about the saitek because I've seen some reviews and they make it seem like this is better than tha G15, a female friend of mine bought one, she loves the key, she plays games too.

and wish they keys were spread out a little more

I think that was my main problem with the G15. In Best Buy I tried the G15 and the original Eclipse (I think the keys are the same on both the original and the Eclipse 2) and I couldn't stand the keys on the G15. I'm not sure what it was, if they were too close together or too small or what, but I much preferred the feel of the Saitek's keys, which to me is the most important part of a keyboard.

I'm sure I could get used to the G15 if I owned it, but sometimes initial impressions are everything and I don't really care about having an LCD screen on my keyboard. And cosmetically, I really sug the Saitek's red backlighting :p .
