37 Westinghouse / Headaches

I was wondering if anyone else gets headaches with larger LCDs ? Any setting suggestions would be appriciated. thanks

That Dell is about to fall off :p

Anyways, try getting a deeper desk or wall mounting the Westinghouse so that you're farther away. Also, lower the brightness/backlight.
 
Yeah, your sitting to close. With a set this size u need to be about 4 feet back. Get ya a wall mount and pull your desk back some.
 
your mom always told you that if you sat that close to the tv you would go blind..... whoda thunk?
 
you are sitting too far away.. move the westinghouse closer to you and lean in a little bit

the problem is that you are too close to that dell monitor.. move it a little further back and you won't get any more headaches

and if you still have headaches.. turn the westinghouse backlight up a little bit
that should do the trick!

need more help.. just let me know!
 
lol that desk is not ment for a 37" monitor..

wall mount that thing and pull back desk some or get a new desk.
 
pretty sure thats a dorm room from the look of it and if thats the case he doesnt have a choice about wall mounting it or what desk he has
 
Its highly likely that you're getting a headache from the S-PVA's color shifting. My girlfriend gets a headache from my 21" S-PVA. I'm sure she'd be puking from that 37". Notice the center of the monitor is darker than the rest of the monitor, now move your head around and you'll see the dark spot move with you. Its a poor viewing angle issue.
 
pull the desk forward and shove a shelf, made out of returnable beer bottle boxes and a couple pine boards. it will look like it belongs in a dorm and your corneas will have some time to heal.
 
yea, i had the same problem with a different monitor, the Sony Bravia 40inch. thing has 7000:1 contrast and was blinding plus i was only 2 1/2 feet from it so my neck also hurt from having to look up. When i move to Japan and i'm still stuck in dorms, i'll be buying a small laptop desktop that can be wheeled around and put my wireless keyboard and mouse on that and set like 5feet away. i'm screwed till i get my own appartment =/
 
When you sit too close to large monitors, especially ones that are more inclined for home theatre like the Westinghouse models, you get headaches and nausea.

I just spent a lot of time up close on a 42" Westinghouse. Same symptoms. The response time of the screen is being picked up by your brain on a subtle level and the large size occupies most of your forward vision leading to those problems. Move back a bit and it should be easier. The high contrast levels also play havoc with your eyes and brain.
 
Send me teh Westy and I guarantee the headaches go away immediately..:D Seriously though,like its been said already,youre too close..
 
That indeed looks like a dorm room... looks pretty much like mine. College students cannot wall-mount, of course. We could return the standard desk and bring our own, but the less stuff to carry on move-in/move-out days, the better. He's using the desk's keyboard tray, so that should be far enough... about 4 feet, I'd say.

im assuming a fellow iowan buy the keyboard pad there. Nice monitor.

I got a 37 inch for my basement the 1080i version from bestbuy and its nice.

where did you get it local at?

I got it at Conns. I had some existing credit with them. $1081 with tax.

Can I use non-returnable bottles ?
