Inspired by the other thread on Oblivion, which version do you guys think is the better buy? I usually have a pretty strong personal opinion about which version is better with other games, but with this one I'm pretty confused. Could use some opinions. Thanks.

I have it for the 360 and I will be buying it for the PC very shortly. I tried but I just can't handle the joystick.

I love my version for PC. Just make sure you read up on tweaking it because it runs like ass without it.

there seems to be a change now, the game actually works good on PC!! the controls aren't uber messed up either, and the performance is actually pretty good. with my current set up i play at 1680X1050 @ medium shadows and low motion blur and i get around 20-30fps

i play pc fps better. but after buying gears of war and now R6:vegas. i got the hang of shooting with a controller.

the graphic is nice, ability to play on big screen, and all the controls are mapped perfectly on the 360. plus my computer vid card is to outdated to run my big lcds.

i guess it would depend on your system. I have played both and i prefer the 360 version. i don't know why controls just seem more natural.

PC version doesn't support WS and I heard there were some lag issues. Other than that, theyr'e pretty close to the same. It's not as bad as the PC version of GRAW.

All depends on your PC hardware

for 360 works great, i am a PC FPS person, but i am finding myself adapting rather fast to the 360 controller.

Speaking of which, what made the PC version of GRAW so terrible though? Because it seems to be a mighty fine game on the 360. Never tried GRAW myself.

I find that all Tom Clancy games are better on 360 (or Xbox for last gen). The PC versions are usually buggy and run slow. They seem to be "made" on 360/xbox first, then ported to the PC. It's just me, though....

The PC version of GRAW was a completely different game, really. They made it more FPS-like and the missions were completely redone. It was impossible to aim at anything and was super buggy, along with major performance issues. The graphics were also painful in many areas and to top it all off, the single player campaign was shorter.

I dont know exactly the fps but it sure didnt run smooth enough for me on my rig with all detail max. I assume that the 360 version would at least run smoothly.

If you buy the game version for PC first thing you do is go and get the 1.02 patch for it. It is pretty big one too, somewhere around like 80 megs or so and it fixes a alot of stuff. I had problems with running the game before the patch but all is well now here for me. Mostly I had trouble with the game stuttering and lagging on the intro logo and stuff and cutscenes too, but not anymore.

360!!!!! It's way better than the PC version, especially with a nice TV. The only thing better in the PC version is the controls.

PC

Controls, 10 dollars cheaper, and you don't have to deal with (some of) the obnoxious clowns on xbox live

But honestly I don't think the game is worth it on any system.

I don't have the 360, hopefully will get one in the future when they add the HDMI and the bigger HD, I do have the ps3 and a new pc. I would say the biggest advantage on the 360 is the ability to import your own face with the camera, you can even put a celebrity picture of some sort by taking a picture of a high res picture. Another advantage is widescreen mode, the pc does not have this yet. I honestly can't do too well with FPS with a controller, I am a keyboard and mouse kind of guy. If I had to choose I would probably get the pc version since it is cheaper to purchase and you don't have to play with immature kids.

dam i forgot this has MP!! time to hook it up to the net (just got mine like 10 days ago)

I've actually been wondering this question myself.

I like the price on PC obviously, but I want it to run smooth.
I'm assuming it would (sig)

for the 360 R6V is magic, for the pc it is utter shite, am sorry, thats the way I feel about it, I wished I never bought the pc version as the 360 version is just so much better. also their is no native wiiiiiiiiiiide screeeeen support which right their and then tells ya the pc version was an after thought.

But it just has to be said, playing it on the 360 is uber magic, get a buddy and hook up in storymode and then just take shield and pistol and it is cool as fuk sniping nubs from across the map and getting headshots with a pistol, just dont try it with the glock as its useless. mk23 with high cap mag and shield = nuff said.

Oh my god horrible. I have it for Xbox 360 but I had planned to get it on the PC to compare :). But no widescreen support just kills it... Thank god I bought the 360 version then.

Sounds like it´s the same team developing the pc version of Vegas and Ghost Recon?

From what I have seen Ghost recon Advanced Warfighter isn´t really Ghost recon and R6 Vegas sure as hell ain´t Rainbow 6. It´s transformed to an action game. Great as it but sucks as a Rainbow 6 simulation :(

Dig this

Auto heal
3rd person perspective
no planning

unfortunately the tomclany rainbow 6 & ghost recon series have become an action shooter rather than the tactical shooter they used to be *sigh* i miss the original rb6.. maybe i'll try swat 4 finally lol

PC because you can run it on a 1080p HDTV and 16x AF! 10 bucks cheaper too
controls on PC is much better and more accurate
xbox360=720p and little or no AF

I wouldn´t say it´s cheaper on a PC. I mean just an 8800 GTS which is what about you need to play at 1900x1200 with 16x aniso in Vegas cost way more then a Xbox 360 ;)

UHHH duh.....thats what makes them so horrid. UBI has gotten greedy and is screweing the PC gamers. They make a decent game for the XBOX, then quickly and poorly port it for PC. Now, I dont know about most of the other ports, but GRAW isnt so bad. That is speaking comparatively to R6-Vegas. I have been playing GRAW for the past four months and couldnt be happier. As it is the only replacement for the original R6 series of games. It may not be the GR replacement that fan base was looking for, it made a good tact FPS replacement. Now if we could only get rid of either the noob toob players or the GL itself, life would be great.

a buddy of mine has same video card, 2gb of ram and an Opteron 146 and his runs pretty smoothly. Although there are some sections when in Vegas that kill my card.

IMO , FPS's on consoles aren't for me - i haven't liked a single one i've played. For the PC version it doesn't support wide-screen out of the box (which is a turn off), but as long as there are quick and easy tweaks to get wide-screen i don't care.

360 all the way!

For me, why would I EVER want to continue gaming on my 19" CRT when I can be playing on my 61" DLP ? ;) Also ... Xbox Live is on FIRE with Vegas right now. Everynight I'm spending hours playing Vegas online and I do not see this game slowing down at all. Intense online MP.. awesome stuff.

The controller doesn't bother me at all, I've honed my controller skills just as I had my mouse skills. You wont hear me bitching about that. =)

Have fun on your dying platform.

^^ LOL. PC gaming is dying, blah blah. PC gaming will resurrect itself with ETQW and Crysis.

I think I might have to buy both ............ just satisfy my curiosity about how well my 7800GTX will performance at 1920x1200 or 1680x1050.

I had both the 360 , and the PC versions. I traded in the 360 version in favor of plaing it on my PC.

The controls are much more precise on the PC , and the clarity of the graphics blows the 360 out of the water.

The 360 version did keep a more constant framerate ( No Dips where the PC version will go from 60+ to 25 in a heartbeat. ) , and the multiplayer component seems a bit more polished on XBOX Live.

Try them both , and then make your decision , I just became too frustrated with the 360 controller , and I was able to enjoy the game a lot more on my PC with the KBM.
