Especially now they're cheap as.. (but sometimes hard to find). Anyway, I just managed to get a boxed and sealed one of these for £79.88 (with delivery)!

ViewSonic P97f+:
Size: 19"
Max Resolution: 2048 x 1536
Dot Pitch: 0.24mm
Vertical: 50 - 160 Hz
Horizontal: 30 - 110 kHz

2048*1536=3145728

I think this is pro 'cos; plenty of pixels to play with, it's very crisp and clear (as good as the many LCDs I've owned/seen), fast refresh rates (I still play CS) and best of all it's cheap as chips.

My two pence/cents :p

Your right, they are cheap. But so big! I dont have the room for one anymore and my eye's dont like CRTs. Can't beat the responce rate though. ;)

Mate they're massive lmao, not arsed me though. It's weird because LCDs give me a terrible head after prolonged use, but CRTs don't.

Completely off topic here... ^^^ This guy right above me got his name wrong, it should be wasdqe, not r. :D

That's the same monitor I have, and I love it. But, the only reason I would consider switching to LCD in the future is energy conservation...and maybe widescreen.

That is a pretty big dot pitch for a CRT :p my 19" is .20mm
:O As if, I've never had one lower than .23! I just figured they didn't exist haha... it must be crisp.

Lmao, is that 'energy conservation.. and maybe WIIIIIIDESCREEEN'? ;)

the only good screen in the world in the westinghouse lvm-37w3. that's it. widecr33n rul3s, and all y0u t3rds sh0uld tremble bef0re my h0rribl3 m1ght! /end n00bie rant mode.

anything over .3 is really pushing it, and you'll need to increase the viewing distance accordingly to compensate. I loved my CRTs for many many years. I finally made the LCD jump earlier this year, and have, in the past year, run 5 different multimonitor setups. For my personal preference, the lvm-37w3 is perfect. One large screen and 1080p is great for me. It's all personal preference...and budget, as well.

The westinghouse is, according to a pixel calculator that I found, 0.4266 pixel pitch. Perhaps I should revise my statement (which based on much smaller, normally spec'd LCDs and CRTs). I can't see any "grid of pixels" when viewing it from 2-3'. That seems awefully odd, does it not?

Yeah this monitor is great to keep me warm in the winter time but it fried my brain in the summer.
