Anyone know how much the Sam's club service agreements cost? (extended warranties) They don't give figures on their site. Are Sam'sClub extended warranties even available for this set? BestBuy does not offer extended warranties on this set anymore.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Sam's 37 w3 westy $1047.88 + 91.72 shipping + $40? membership fee = 1179.60
And they charge tax to NY state? I'm in western NY state myself, where the sales tax is pretty high at 8.75% ~ + $91.70 on the base price = $1271.30 total
If Sams allows online orders to be returned to the local "brick&mortar" Sams club location, it might be worth it for me since BestBuy does not list my zipcode as available for delivery for the westy 37w3. I prefer being able to drop such large items off locally if there is a problem, and I prefer being able to talk face to face with someone rather than play phone games and in the case of many vendors I'd have to swallow the shipping costs on returns (Crutchfield) .. if they even allow returns (newegg doesn't).
At $1271.30 (after buying membership) the SamsClub price is very good compared to the other dealers outside of special sales/coupons. If they offer a service plan on this set at a reasonable price, and allow returns to the store, I think I would go with them. I may even be able to get a membership cheaper under my brother-in-law's account too.
