Android "Discover" hijacking my Google search bar.

Google Discover hijacked my Google search bar. Disabling it from the settings doesn't work. History and suggestions are gone. SMH. Sorry about the big attachment

Open Settings and type suggest in the Settings search bar and look within every target it listed, see if something in there will help you out. There were more matches than I could include in my screenshot.
If that didn't help, install Nova Launcher and browse to Home Screen settings. Nova will easily design the Search Bar as you want it to look.
