Post good deals that you find on the web that might be of special interest to members of the [H]orde.

Let's keep this thread for posting of deals only. Please do not clutter it up with discussion about the products posted. Start new threads about that if you would like to discuss.

Thanks,
Moose :)

Not much of a good deal, but more of a word to the wise.

Upon researching the build for Fe Nuts, I have found something interesting on ewiz that may possibly be used on other sites as well. For example:

Tyan Tempest i5000XL (S2692ANR) search from www.ewiz.com
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-S2692AN = $356.63 Free Shipping

Searched through www.froogle.com
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-S2692AN&c=fr = $335 + $11.99 shipping Total
$346.99

Searched through www.pricegrabber.com
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-S2692AN&c=PG = $356.63 Free Shipping

Searched through www.pricewatch.com
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-S2692AN&c=pw = $354.25 Free Shipping

I am not sure on other sites that this is handled this way, but be aware of the possibilities to save about 10 bucks by just using a different search engine!:D

Good through Tuesday, Fry's has the Athlon 64 X2 3800 with an ECS motherboard for $139. The motherboard is nothing to get excited about, but it's got everything you need (AM2, uATX, 2xDDR, PCIe x16 and x1, 2x SATA, etc) if you're not overclocking. Here's the ad in the Houston Chronicle. The deal is listed specifically for the Houston area, but there's a very good chance it will be available in other areas as well (most of the deals are common across all Fry's locations).

If you are looking for a potentially ready to run solution at a good price check out (often as the good ones tend to go fast) Dell's Outlet. Some are refurb, some were cancelled orders, some are scratch and dent. They will say what they are - they all generally come with the full warranty. I just picked up a xeon quad core server from there last week for $1890 - came with a single E5345, 4GB, two 73GB 15K SAS drives (which turned out to be Fujitsu MAX drives). It's burning through some WU's right now. Running the new win SMP client and finishing a WU in under a day. Now I just need a second proc and more RAM.

I just go into servers, then choose PowerEdge servers and select the quad core xeons, same with the precision workstations.

AMD have just dropped their CPU prices a bunch. The X2 5000 is now about the same price ($165) as the E4300. This also means, though, that you can get super-cheap X2 3600's and clock them up to the same speed of an X2 5000. An X2 5000 will still lag an E4300 in folding, but will outperform it (by around 10%) in just about everything else.

I just installed that card in my latest Q6600 system tonight. I was using an old PCI Rendition V2100 card before I picked up the X700. I have no clue how the hell the X700 would game but I don't care as I didn't buy the card for that. It's probably not too bad considering it's $25.

Next time check out the X1550 for $25 with rebate of $10... it uses less power, and is fanless... I'm making that my card of choice and may just buy a few to have for future! :)

I saw that as well, but I've been rebated out lately with all the purchases I've made. In this case, the extra $10 in savings just wasn't worth messing with the rebate.

Here is two good deals:

Antec 430 Truewatts PSU (Certified 80% efficient plus) = 49.99 shipped
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371006

Antec Case w/ 380 Truewatt PSU = $84.99 shipped
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129035

Abit P35-E is also on sale at newegg with 89.99 - $30 MIR = 59.99 for a nice folding mobo.

Too many memory deals going on right now to list em... Microcenter has some good one's and so does newegg... I ended up doing the corsair for 27.99 after MIR for 2gig of DDR26400 4-4-4-12

In store w/ 380w earthwatts = $59.99

also, OZ PC-5300 2x1gb = $39.99 - $15 MIR = $24.99

That case is top notch, that's the exact one I got (in black myself) for my new E2160 folding, err... file server I built 2 weeks ago. The PSU is 80+ efficient so it's a excellent choice. For a dedicated folding box, it can run with a Q6600 fine as long as you get a cheap video card or a motherboard with integrated video.

Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive power supply ($20-$30) to run a couple of diskless boxen E2160's with Gigabyte 945 board?

You guys are wimps. Not all rebates are Tiger Direct quality. ;)

IMO, what kills PSU deals is the shipping costs and Newegg is throwing in free shipping.

Thank you sir! I wanted the earthwatts for my diskless box, but modular makes this so much better!
