Guidelines:

Keep images a resonable size... if you got a 1Ds for your birthday that dosent mean that we want to download a 4,064 x 2,704 JPEG  (It means you should pack it up and mail it to me, PM me for my address.... ;))

If pictures turn to red
redx.gif
's for a significant period then they may be removed. DO NOT link images from servers that are not yours, host them yourself. If you do not have a host checkout this page... http://www.FLECOM.net/[H]OCP/upload.html

All posts must adhere to the forum rules, and the Case Modding forum rules in the Case Mod FAQ.

- NO DISCUSSION - pics only... if you want feedback on your case just post it here and make a thread asking for comments or something like that

Another woody of mine (more pics here). The CD-ROM bezel looks way better in black then beige, don't you think? Someday I'll get around to painting the bezels on the other box so they match.

This is a conversion of a 1946 Bush DAC 90 bakelite radio into a home entertainment PC. The big brass buttons on the front are power and reset switches, between them in the round window are 200 red LEDs which belongs to two 10-channel spectrum analyzers connected to the left and right channel on the sound card. Above the spectrum analyzers which are embedded in clear cast resin is a modified CrystalFontz 634 LCD (converted from green to red and inverted). A slim line cd-rom player is located under the round brass plate.

Specs:

Intel Celeron-II 800MHz
Shuttle FV-24
2 x 128MB PC-100
10GB HDD
24X IBM Slim line laptop CD-ROM

This project started when Intel contacted me regarding a case to show off their new Pentium 4 3.06GHz with. I couldn't let down this nice offer so brainstorming mode was next on the agenda.

After a while I got the idea, why not put a 3GHz computer inside the digit three...

Specs:

Intel P4 3.06GHz
Intel D845PEBT2
512MB generic DDR333
ATI Radeon 9700 PRO
Seagate Barracuda V 80GB S-ATA
LiteON External USB2.0 40x/12x/40x CDRW
QTec 400w PSU Gold

Mods:

Complete custom case made out of watercut anodised aluminium.
2 x 12" blue CCFLs illuminating the internals from Kustom PCs.

Cooling:

1 x YSTech 70mm TMD fan mounted on a Vantec Aeroflow VP4-C7040 heatsink cooling the CPU.

This project is a 1996 Silicone Graphics O2 workstation with an original 17.3" widescreen LCD monitor converted to a gaming machine.

Externally, the only hint of a modification is that the audio and video ports on the left hand side has been replaced with a dark blue piece of plastic. When powered up, blue light will flood from all air intakes and the dark blue piece of plastic will reveal a Noritake graphical VFD.
The most significant modification can only be seen from behind - a new chassis made out of Carbon Fibre...

Specs:

Intel P4 2.4 GHz
Intel D850EMD2
2 x 256MB Kingston PC1066 RDRAM
Ati Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB
80GB Western Digital HDD with 8MB cache
16X Toshiba DVD-ROM
Sparkle 300W 1U PSU

Mods:

Complete stealth mod, when the computer is powered off, only the backside will look different from an original Silicon Graphics O2 Workstation.
Chassis made out of carbon fibre.
Noritake graphical VFD.
4 x 4" blue CCFLs illuminating the internals.

Cooling:

1 x YSTech 70mm TMD fan mounted on a Swiftech MCX4000 heatsink cooling the CPU.
1 x Akasa 1U Copper HSF mounted on the ATI 9700 PRO
1 x 80mm aluminium housed fan for cooling the case

Presidents and generals feared it, the investors feared it, more or less everyone feared it that very night a few years ago. Billions had been spent on hunting it down, still no one had even caught a glimpse of it... until now.

Let me present the Millennium bug.

I have a red cc in there, but the pic didnt turn out good, and I'm too lazy to take another. Most of the cables are sleeved, and the interior and pci slot covers are painted with Industrial Rustolium spray paint.

Heres mine... It wasnt done when I took the pic but I got it all completed today and it looks even better with the UV lights and such.

I wish I would have had the time or knowledge to actually mod a case but this is the best I could do. I LOVE THE CASES YOU GUYS HAVE!!!

:D :D I might order a 6800GT if doom 3 or HL2 dont run well on my 9800p, check out that cooler I have on my videocard though! That thing got me 7,300 in 3dmark03@ 486/760

What do you do when there are no decent computer supply stores in your area?

You improvise....and use stuff from Auto Parts stores. :D

comp_lit1.jpg

comp_unplugged1.jpg

The sleeving (except for the cables going to the motherboard, which I'm going to sleeve once that stupid ATX pin extractor comes in, along with my PET sleeving) was all done with spark plug covering. It was actually good stuff, the fabric is pretty good quality, and it came with it's own heatshrink.

I then decided, because I was bored, to paint the molex connectors and the heatsinc fan, so I used....Duplicolor automotive spray paint in "Toytoa Silver". The cathode and fans were all there before I started my little makeover.

Front needs to be finished especially the dvd drive, I ran out of vinyl dye. I am thinking about maybe putting a cathode in. Also need to touch up some of the paint, it took some battle damage at Quakecon this year.
