it has a intel 915g mobo er something and was wondering if anyone knew if it can be overclocked via program or bios flash or mod or anything.

cpu is a p4 530

alright thank you so much, i googled clockgen for 915g and someone posted an article about it and since cpu id doesnt have a download for that chipset. the poster showed a screenshot of the version so i googled that and downloaded it. i think it worked cuz i can move the slider and such. but i dont know what ghz my cpu is at after i move it, here is a screenshot thank you so much if this works!

Most OEM motherboards are locked to prevent you from overclocking them. Its likely that it is impossible.

ahhh i guess i will ask gateway, ik there's nothing in the bios, so anybody know of ANY oc program or utility ?
there is nothing in the bios because it is locked from the manufacturer. and most oc programs and utilities out there are by the motherboard's manufacturers (ie, MSI has corecenter). you could always search for a cracked bios for your chipset, but most likely it is impossible to oc.

WARNING :
DONT BLAME ME IF THIS F---S UP YOUR SYSTEM

1)

Take the memory out of your mobo on your Rig. Start it up with NO memory onboard, it'll beep repeatidly, let it go ahead and do so. After it finishes beeping, turn it off, and install in the memory and turn it back on. The computer will load into the bios stating that it failed bootup due to system frequencies, and might give you the options of changing them!!!! I did it to an old P3.. So far I've gotten a 300 mhz increase.

I don't know if this anecdotal story will help, but I read a thread by a guy who bought a Dell desktop that he was able to use a pin mod to change the FSB up to 1066. Not to certain what is possible on the LGA side of pin modding, but maybe there is somehing . . .
