Maxtor 300GB 7200RPM 16MB cache 774-952 $149.99
that would be hot if i needed a new hdd...especially 16mb cache...didnt know they made those yet...

Does anyone know if the drive on sale is SATA or not? The one linked to above is PATA.

Edit: looks like its PATA using the product number in the ad. I still might bite though.

I've never tried RAID 5'ing. But with RAID 0, it would be over a TB. 300x4=1200 GIGs.

Hrm... might have to get a few of these, but it would really ruin my current storage trend of eight 250 GB drives.
I'd be willing to take a 250 or a pair of 250's off your hands if you want :D

A few nice things in the ad. The D-Link Gigabit Switch (5port), and you get a free gigabit adapter after rebates: = $49.98

19" LG LCD Monitor $429.99 After $150 in MIRs
17" LG LCD Monitor $319.99 After $110 in MIRs
17" KDS LCD Monitor $269.99 After $50 MIR

And the Sony 16x DVDRW DL Internal Drive is $99.99 after $30 MIR

The Microsoft Wireless Optical Keyboard with Fingerprint Scanner, and Mouse: $59.95 After $10 instant and $10 MIR.

The SONY VGNA150 Laptop is on clearance for $899.04
Sku: 711-600 There was only 1 left in my area.
It's got a 1.5ghrz Pentium M processor
512MB Ram
80GB HD
Ati Radeon 9200 Video
And a DVDRW Drive

It's Pentium 4 Counterpart is $799

I plan to try and get one of these HD's tomorrow. I really doubt they will have any in stock though, seems to always be the case. Can you get the deal online?

Yes, you can. You can check your local store for how many they have in stock, before they open. Mine has five, but I only need one.

Thanks man. Picked up my drive this morning. Came to $163 with tax. Hope to pick up one more later this week.

Got the drive too, there were 10 left. I added the extra OD warranty since I've had problems w/ HDDs in the past and don't trust Maxtor as much as WD. (not to mention, the Maxtor is only a 1 yr warranty too.)

Mine was sapped out. =(

They said someone bought all 12 that they had when the door opened, but they may have more later this week.

laptop = "Discontinued" :(

That's why I put "Clearance"

I picked up the Philips DVD+R 50 pk for $19.99 and 2 of the Philips DVD-R 25pks for $9.99 each.

Not a fan of Maxtor so I'm not interested in this one. The Western Digital Deal at CC seams better. $79.99 for a 200GB HD of course, they are only Mail in Rebates and it's $70. But maybe someone has the HD for cheaper and you could pricematch 110%

TigerDirect has the Western Digital HD for $129.99 so there's at least $20 off. I'm looking for more
Intrex Computers has it for $129.99 also (Raleigh/Durham area only)

ncq i presume?
and what is the warranty?
No, this is a PATA/133 drive, not SATA2/NCQ.

Maxtor retail warranties are 1 year. OEM drives get 3 years. Most drive manufacturers are going that way. Weird, because before it was exactly opposite, i.e. retail drives got the longer warranty.

Still, $150 no rebates for 300GB from a B&M store is an excellent deal. My local OD had several left at lunch today, but after my Christmas spending I couldn't bring myself to part with $300 to upgrade my RAID0 array...
