Tweak UI for windows xp

I really just want Tweak UI so I can get rid of the annoying arrows on short cut icons but the .exe I dl off of http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx doesn't work. What's going on?

Did you download from the "Tweak UI for Itanium based systems" link. If so, then it won't work... Unless you have an Itanium based system. There is another link right above that one that just says "Tweak UI". Here it is:

If that one doesn't work then there may be something wrong with your Windows install or internet explorer isn't downloading the file correctly, i.e. the executable gets corrupted.

The .exe worked great for me. It installs as a program but doesn't put an icon in the control panel as the older versions did.

But here's another vote for X-Setup. It is remarkable the amount of settings that can be changed in that program. But be careful, you can easily change a setting the futzes up the PC.
