windows xp bootup help
when i start my computer it goes to the logonm screen but there is nothing but the pictures there. no butons or anything. what do i do now

Please explain farther. Is there a screen thats tell you to press ctrl-alt-del to logon, is the quick user logon there but the pickures are X's, what? C'mon man you gotta be more specific.

the quick user logon picture is there but nothing else. no names, buttons or anything, not efven the shut down button on the bottom is there. so i cant logon

Usually you'll just click on the pictures to logon and if its password protected you'll be prompted for one.

did you try control+alt+delete x 2 to get the classic login prompt to at least get you into windows?
