Well, this one's in Dayton, but www.ohiogeekfest.com is established and is a pretty good time. I will admit that I've not been to one of their events yet (we can thank my job for that one), but my friends that do get to go have a blast.
I would venture to say this one's worth the hour drive to Dayton.

This, unless you're trying to set up your own lan party in columbus... that'd be a good thing too. It's a lot of work, mind you, but the payoffs (not always financial) can be very nice. Try gettting some local shops to sponsor the party. Perhaps in exchange for a few choice peices of gear to hand out as door prizes, they get free advertising. Just be sure to cover your own butt when it comes to money and legal issues (disclaimers, liability, etc).

Hope I could help.

I don't want to host one. I want to go to one so I can play comptuer games. I mainly play CS, and SOFII, and Quake III. Which I'm really good at. I'm currently ranked top 50 in CS on the H servers. If I try harder and put some time into it I can probably make top 10.
