Why do scumbags like this always try to take people's hard earned money? Hell, if you are going to break into the IRS, why not pay everyone's taxes while you are in there.
One of the worst things an identity thief can do with a stolen Social Security number is use it to then claim that person’s tax refunds. The Internal Revenue Service has revealed that ID thieves recently tried to attack IRS.gov in an effort to cash in on 460,000 stolen SSNs. According to the IRS, the automated cyber attack attempted to use malware to trick IRS.gov into generating E-file PINs for the hundreds of thousands of SSNs.
