Hackers posted the Department of Homeland Security's staff directory that contains the title, name, email address, and phone number of more than nine thousand employees on Twitter yesterday. The group also posted the details on 20,000 FBI employees earlier today. :(

The US government has yet another security breach on its hands. Late yesterday, a Twitter account posted a Department of Homeland Security staff directory containing names, titles, email addresses, phone numbers and more for over 9,000 employees. "This is for Palestine, Ramallah, West Bank, Gaza, This is for the child that is searching for an answer," the post read. What's more, the hacker claims they have details on 20,000 FBI employees and plan to leak those next.

if the information is legit, nothing good will come from this at all...

This doesn't hurt those that make/made the decisions.
Young mind most likely

No but it does stir the hornet's nest.

This won't have any effect on foreign policy so that rug rat ain't going to get any answer cause of this and Palestine, Ramallah, the West Bank, and Gaza are going to continue to be crappy places to live and grow up in.

What can change is the openness of the internet and the continuance of basic anonymity on the internet. Now I know the reality today isn't what it used to be but part of that is our own fault. Besides, as grand as it sounds we all know it can't stay like it used to be and support internet based business so it has to go the way it's going. The fantasy world has to give way to a real world if you want to do real world things in it.

These people insist on bringing not just the good but the bad as well to the internet so go figure how governments will react, it ain't hard, you don't need a crystal ball :(

Just goes to validate all the Secretary of state ambassador(s) history of keeping their own email servers.

If anything, it hurts whatever cause(s) the leakers support, since causing massive collateral damage of people who just do their jobs almost never plays well.

"We need new powers to stop the scary hackers!!!!!!!!"

Nice job breaking it, "hero."

hahahahahahaha what was it they tell us "if your not doing anything wrong you should be ok"?

sounds a bit silly imo, probably not legit

If they are the people who believe or say this, then whatever, but chances are these are just the people who carry out the bs sent from above.

Whose definition of wrong?

That's probably where they got this information....

It's possible. If DHS is run anywhere as loosely as State seems to have been then a full listing like this could easily have come from the Global Address List of an Exchange email server. There is room there for all kinds of data that goes well beyond just someone's email address.

You get some door knob that wants an email server set up someplace and pretty soon he wants access to the big address book and there it is.

Cyber security? Infrastructure? Drinking water? The environment? What else is the greatest country on earth not capable of handling?

It's all just Wall Street and defense. Anything else is irrelevant!
