Dban not loading

i was trying to clear off a HDD that has windows 10 64 bit
and for some reason i keep getting this error

it worked before on a windows 7 64 system, not sure why its not now..

Cat: Cant Open /proc/cmdline' : No such file or directory

any ideas whats going wrong or what to try?

Run in Administrator mode and/or compatibility mode ?

Can you run things in admin mode if its a ISO that you need to boot from?

Any idea? I would like to clean the HDD before I get rid of it. The forum for dban is no where to be found on there site.

Try reburning the dban iso? you may have a corrupt copy..

That error looks like a boot problem with DBAN itself rather than what's on the HDD.
I would try the following:
-disconnect the W10 drive and see if you can boot dban at all
-fallback to legacy IDE (disable AHCI) in CMOS setup and retry
-try something like badblocks in full read-write mode (it's a Linux bootcd standard package) to achieve the same result. Badblocks will utilize 4 or so patterns as it wrecks the media. It's an excellent tool for diagnosis also
