DHI Group, Inc., a leading provider of data, insights and employment connections through our specialized services for professional communities including technology and security clearance, financial services, energy, healthcare and hospitality, today announced that it completed the sale of its Slashdot and SourceForge businesses (together referred to as "Slashdot Media") to BIZX, LLC in a transaction that closed on January 27, 2016. Financial terms were not disclosed.
 
I gave up on Slashdot a year ago. Thanks to that I've spent more time here and rediscovered how much better the hardforum really is.

And I gave up on Sourceforge a few years back when they started including spam and malware with their downloads.
 
In the slashdot thread, the user whipslash seems to be one of the slashdot team replying to comments there.
