If this new start up is to be believed, a nationwide wireless broadband network is on the way, bringing cheap gigabit wireless connections with it. Hopefully this venture is a little more successful than Aereo.
Starry plans to launch a wireless broadband service called Starry Internet at a lower price than current providers. The company plans to roll out in Boston this summer and spread to more cities throughout the year. The eventual goal is to build out the service nationwide. If Starry's promise of delivering up to a 1-gigabit connection, or 10 times the average home broadband speed, pans out, it could shake up the broadband industry.
