Researchers at The Spamhaus Project claim that over four million IP addresses are being operated by cybercriminals over the Verizon network. The report goes on to say that Verizon is "failing to properly vet IP address ranges for which it provides transit."

Researchers at The Spamhaus Project have identified over 4 MILLION IP addresses currently in the hands of American cybercriminals that are routed by US network operator Verizon Communications, which is currently by far the largest single source of snowshoe spam in operation today. We also will mention that at the time of this article, Verizon has more than 80 SBL listings and ranks sixth in our "The World's Worst Spam Support ISPs" list. Being on this list is not new to Verizon, but it has been some years since their concern for security/abuse issues has been this poor.

Yet, god forbid you somehow get on their mail server IP blacklist. We got 3 static IPs that had been abused a year prior, so they were "dirty".
Ended up having to go to their forums, in hope to get unblocked, and did, but not before wasting a bunch of time with their abuse desk/e-mail/phone.

Having to talk to verizon on the phone is one of the absolute most painful things I can think of having to do.
