Microsoft could be considered the worst offender if you total up by vendor, but when you look at it based on marketshare, isn’t OS X being first on the list kind of shameful?

A healthy dose of critical thinking is in order because Apple and Microsoft have complex operating systems to build and maintain, compared to a vendor who only publishes applications and development kits, and accordingly would be expected to have higher overall numbers. For example, Adobe continues its reputation for vulnerabilities across its products, including Flash, Air and Acrobat.

Publicly disclosed and fixed.

No wonder MS and Android weren't on the list. It's the secret and unfixed that are the problem.

Um no, least for MS they fix things in a timely manner, unlike apple they will fix when they get around to it which usually 2 months or so. In terms of security track record of fixing issues, Apple is very slow to do so.

Yeah way to disregard the point in the post. It's the secretly known and unfixed exploits that are the bane of Windows that are the true problem. Not the known and fixed ones.

It's because it's not a vulnerability when someone roots their phone and then unknowingly gets compromised.

Getting compromised in stock iOS is pretty damn hard for most people.
