The VIDITY Software Platform by WDLabs is supported and validated by the established and expanding VIDITY hardware, software, and certification ecosystem that will provide common building blocks for next generation video devices and Over-The-Top (OTT) services. This new software platform accelerates the availability of VIDITY enabled 4K Ultra HD HDR devices by enabling innovators to focus on value-added features and differentiation.

LOL. TOO LATE.

Technicolor and the UHD Alliance is already there. That train has left the station. And if you're a content creator who are you going to go to? The guys who make hard disks and shitty Roku clones or TECHNICOLOR?

There will be no "standards" here. It'll be more proprietary tech like Dolby Vision mucking up the works and slowing things down along with hefty royalty fees to WD in order to use said "standards."
