I have been fighting tdr's since i bought my MSI Gaming 980ti.

I knew all along it was driver related i just wanted to let everyone know that the new hot fix driver 3.55.80 resolved the issue for me. I have not had one in a couple of days now. I have been getting at least 1-2 every day.

Each driver release reduced them, i know the fix states for sli only but there is always undocumented fixes. cheers and good luck
 
i had been getting driver recoveries using an msi 980 and windows 10. found that removing my modest overclock and not starting up afterburner fixed it. with win8 i was able to overclock my card no problem. something up with win10 and afterburner right now.
 
Surprisingly I never received a single TDR until 355.80 myself. Have had two of them sitting at desktop in windows since I installed this driver. I have 760's though. Keeping an eye on it myself and watching the OC and afterburner interaction as well.
