Depending on the severity of the bugs found by this guy, I'm not sure I'd want to be using any of those miles until they patched the planes. ;)

Wiens, who founded a security company in Florida called Vector 35 and not too long ago worked for a government contractor, submitted what he thought were a couple of “lame” bugs to United’s two-month-old bug bounty program—his first commercial bounty submission. The payoff was anything but weak.

I been trying, no luck yet and have submitted 10 bugs. Two they said they discovered before the program (yet are not fixed yet). If you make a purchase make sure you use HTTPS.
