Hey, if you are going to build something big, Texas has plenty of room to do it. ;)

Facebook will invest at least $500 million in the global data center, a spokesperson said, and will employ at least 40 full-time employees. The center will also be powered entirely by renewable energy, Tom Furlong, Facebook's vice president of infrastructure, wrote in a blog post.

cue the folks saying they dont FB and that it will be dead in a few years. You know the same ones that said that 5 years ago too.

500 million will only employ 40 permanent people :(

I agree. We need to get a government bureaucracy involved with union labor involved. That will fix that right up. Not only will they need 4000 people, they will need to double their budget and run 3 year behind schedule.

The other side of government bureaucracy is already involved. Fort Worth gave them millions of dollars in tax breaks to build the DC here. They gave FB more in tax breaks than what it's going to cost them to pay all 40 employees at the minimum $70k/yr rate they agreed to hire them at.
