Replacing old ac adapter

yes it should the important thing is that is outputs 12 v @ 1.5A and the plug has the same polarity and size... in this case both outer rings are negative or ground and the inner pin is positive...
 
oh, nice, was just confused because it only says AC Adaptor and not ac dc, old stuff didn't care to specify.. :)

Could the low huming I can hear from the speakers connected to the subwoofer be produced by this old adapter ? I already tried to move the wires away from electric things and doesn't help.
 
yes, the 60Hz hum can come from a poorly filtered power supply

that said, plenty of current production adapters are just as bad
 
well.. I'll see if that $2 something adapter will make it better or cause an explosion :D
 
the nice thing here is that it runs on 12V, if you have trouble finding a sufficiently filtered wall supply you can find all manner of high quality linear 12V supplies and hack the plug and wire off your old one.
