Has anyone heard of a 21:9 screen coming that would use more than 34"?

Get a 40" or larger 4K display. Use GPU scaling to have it display 3840x1646.

Kinda defeats the purpose of having a 21.9 screen.

I don't know of any 21.9 screen with a vertical resolution higher tan 1440.

I would be in for one were it to exist.

next jump is what 5120 x 2160? that's 11m pixel :D

This one is larger than 34"

but is a little bit pricey

I been keeping an eye out for a 21:9 larger than 34" but haven't seen or heard of any in the works yet. I'd love to have a 40"-45"" version. 4K is the next step up but my eyes are not good enough for that res and pc gaming. Those with 20/20 vision have some great things to look forward to in the large monitor segment.

Hmm, there really is no need for DP 1.3. Dell's 5K I have works very nice with two DP 1.2 cables, no issues.

Making a larger screen with larger screen res is not necessarily going to be 4K in terms of resolution by vert. You can make a 3740x1600 for example, or something else. Even in case of a 7K res like 6880x2880, you scale it, you don't use native, of course.

I find 34" too short/narrow and would love to see a larger screen that would match 30-32" screens in height and vertical resolution (being 1600 for example).

One thing went missing: the 21:9 in the 4K class should be curved. Telling this as an owner of 16:9 32"@4K, I can see the 21:9 so much stretched that curving would be a big plus.

I absolutely agree. 39-40" but 21:9 factor would be absolutely on my "must have" list. Just a touch more height than the 34" models but not so much as the 40" 16:9 models.

It would be entirely similar to a 4k 32" model when used in 16:9 mode which is good to me. That would basically be the same as turning a 32" model they currently make into one just a bit wider.

29" 21:9's were somewhat interesting
34" 21:9's have been big attention getters which shows where the users were going
40" 21:9's would be a hit I think - so many people wondering if they could get something bigger without making it as tall as a 40" 16:9

I honestly think that given 40" in either format (link above) people would prefer a tiny bit more width than the tiny bit more height. I'm just surprised that the OP said what has been running through my mind for months.
