What would make this guy think he could successfully sue the Electronic Frontier Foundation in the first place?

We are pleased that he has decided to abandon his misguided and counterproductive litigation. He dismissed his case without prejudice, and there was no settlement or agreement between the parties, meaning he could still re-file the meritless lawsuit. We stand ready to defend if he does, but for now consider this matter to be over.

Great idea with EFF putting patent trolls in the 'Stupid Patent of the Month' spotlight but I hope they don't shy away from the big guys doing it.
 
Lawyers...what a racket...;) It's always amusing to discover that lawyers have their own lawyers in case they ever get sued...;) & most judges are former lawyers themselves--it's the Good 'ol Boy/Girl club...I've often fantasized about having some lawyers incarcerated under RICO...;)
