The review crew at Neoseeker has published a review of Patriot's Viper 4 DDR4 3000MHz today. If you need memory for a new X99 based system, this review will be of interest to you.

These kits come with higher module density and lower voltage requirements, which translate into better performance levels compared to previous generation DDR3 technology. This new standard is also maturing at an impressive pace, and today's Viper 4 review sample from Patriot is the perfect example boasting modules running at 3000MHz out of the box!

And to think, there was a day when i, with pride, unboxed my DDR1333 and though it was quick.

I remember that $350 1GB Corsair Platinum XMS DDR400 ECC matched pair kit for the old FX51.

It was good times stomping P4 bandwidth numbers in Sandra, at least. Hell, it was good times all around whoopin' up on those cry babies. :D

Then the Core showed up :(

DDR4 is really inexpensive

People thing it's a lot of money, it's not.

You can get 16gb ( 4 x 4 ) Corsair LPX "low profile" 2800 / 3000 for $219 from Amazon or Newegg. Microcenter will price match Newegg.
