Faulty Taptic Engine Slows Apple Watch Roll Out

Could this be the reason behind the slow roll out of the Apple Watch?

The part involved is the so-called taptic engine, designed by Apple to produce the sensation of being tapped on the wrist. After mass production began in February, reliability testing revealed that some taptic engines supplied by AAC Technologies Holdings Inc., of Shenzhen, China, started to break down over time, the people familiar with the matter said. One of those people said Apple scrapped some completed watches as a result.

So they started to produce the watches, THEN started doing QA testing. Sounds about right for this day and age of release now and patch later. Too bad you can't patch physical hardware issues.

That is not a bug, it is a feature, don't worry though they will come out with an Apple Watch S that will add the intended feature back, and everyone will think it is the greatest thing ever.

Makes you wonder, definitely sounds like if you bought one, hopefully you picked up that Apple Care protection. ;)

The first watches from Apple will become collectors items now, whether they work or not.

Everyone loves a gadget. Apples first generation stuff has usually been "Check THIS out", because we didn't really have decades of MP3 Players or Tablet Computers, or portable phones that didn't have any buttons on them that were really portable computers. This is just a watch.
