I'm getting interested in VMWare Eval Experience. Do some of you guys running a home lab use it? Any interesting features?
They list they "fully support 3 hosts". I have 2 x dual socket systems and a few single socket systems as well. Would a "1 user" license be enough say for 2 x dual socket systems + 1 x single socket system?I'm intrigued they advertise that the license applies to "host" and not "CPU". Did they change their policy? I recall some users having problems with dual socket systems because the # of licenses wasn't enough.
Since I have more than 3 hosts anyway if I buy a 2 users license would that me allow to run 6 hosts within the same cluster or they would be two separated 3-hosts clusters?
Lastly and most importantly: can this license be renewed every year? Did you find it worth it?
Note: I'm currently running ESXi 6.0 free on two hosts.
