The computer market may be shrinking for tablets and desktop computers, but the market is now shifting good fortune to a new paradigm; the connected car. A virtually untouched market still in its infancy, the connected car will provide new opportunities for a multitude of computer related businesses not seen since the heyday of the PC back in the 90’s.

The connected-car market is growing at a five-year compound annual growth rate of 45% — 10 times as fast as the overall car market.

I think we're likely to see an explosion of desktop sales (and laptops) when Windows 10 is shipping and the OEMs can begin offering it pre-installed. It'll be interesting to see...

So,

New USB connectors, so all your old stuff no longer works unless you buy a bunch of new cables?

Wireless charging? So instead of carrying around a small brick to charge it, you'll need to carry around a large pad or a table? No thanks.

Wireless Displays? You mean yet another wireless display standard that isn't backwards compatible with all the other standards and won't talk reliably to any displays or external boxes everyone is currently using?

Can't wait for some manager to go out and buy one of these new laptops and then complain because it can't connect to anything in the office except for basic WiFi
