Theoretically, yes, but the PHilips is not avaailable in the U.S. so it's hard to say. I read in the thread for the Philips, those that pre-ordered through amazon received cancellation notices. So it's tough to compare prices for a product that isn't available.

Also, if their monitors follow the pricing of their previous 4k tv's, the price may rapidly drop.

No the Phillips one on the Amazon page was listed for the exact same price on the US site anyway.

Amazon has canceled all those orders entirely as of today though.

Likely this is the same panel , but for the same price I'd feel much safer buying a Phillips if I run into warranty issues.

But I've really got no idea how good Seiki US warranty support is so maybe it would be as easy to deal with as Phillips US.
