The Sony hack left the corporation in shambles, the President of the US weighs in on not releasing the movie, the FBI declared North Korea is behind the hacks, and now North Korea wants to team up with the US to find the real culprit behind the hack…..or else. So where does that leave the US in options?

Moreover, Obama talked about a "proportional" response. What would that be in this case?

Maybe they can get OJ in on the action and find the real killer too.......

Imagine this, but made out of kimchi.

Well, at least the Norks have moved beyond artillery strikes and kidnapping people in their bids for attention.

Now I guess they'll just let loose the haxxors whenever they want someone to pay attention to them. It's a sad and pathetic leadership situation over there really.

then call there bluff. Ask them if they object to releasing the movie.

What's funny is that Seth Rogen said in an interview they made KJUn very like-able. Like a good guy to hang around and smoke weed with. Does it hurt his dictator image? The fact of the matter, most NKoreans would never know of this film. There was a lady (when she mentioned cover story, I assume she was CIA) who went into NK under the guise of a teacher and observed a lot of things, she said even the higher ups (future leader members) don't have access to the internet.

This whole scenario brings up an interesting question - what is a proportional response to cyber terrorism? If some hackers do something to terrorize a group of people, yet cause no physical death/harm, what is the response?

If those hackers were to bomb Sony HQ, causing damage but no deaths, they'd be on a drone kill list. So what response for the digital world? F-ing digital terrorists trying to one-up the analog terrorists of past.

They can just say no, they don't object. What will happen then? There are still threats that they claim didn't come from them. If the threats follow through, what's the difference? It's Sony's information that the hackers laready have. Nothing would have changed, except that the luff was called, but at an entity that denies it anyway.

Now, calling their bluff on the their "consequences" of not allowing them to "help" is a different story. I'd just ask them to tell what they intend to do, and how it would help. I can't see the US not having the ability, and probably foreknowledge to already do what they will have suggested and tell them that they already intended or have already done so.

Anyway, that aside.... is it really called the Democratic People's Republic of Korea? Really?

I wish people would stop calling this "cyber terrorism". Most. Moronic. Name. For. A. Hack. Ever.

People can vote. There may only be one name on the ballot, but you can vote.
Is it really that much different from having 2 names on the ballot* like we do here in the Land of the Free+?

*For any districted election, only one of the names will actually have a chance of winning thanks to gerrymandering.

+Some exclusions may apply, not valid in all states, void where prohibited by law.
Not valid for women, black men, hispanics, juveniles, or the poor. Please have identification and proof of [strike=]bribes[/s] campaign contributions ready.

I don't see why letting North Korea participate is a bad thing. I mean seriously, some mutual cooperation might really be a good step in establishing like better diplomatic relations and trying to fix some of the stuff that's disagreeable.

I want to say no, but it's not true. Just because majority of the people are stupid and or easily manipulated, doesn't change the fact that you technically can choose others.

You can't fix crazy. North Koreans are force-fed false information their whole lives. The whole structure of their society is broken beyond repair.

Hehe, it works pretty well for us too. :D Anyhow, making stuff better has to start someplace so why not work at making it better instead of holding grudges and getting stuck over differences?

Work with the UN and China on economic sanctions, while implementing a US led naval blockade of North Korea.

Don't fire a shot, let them bury themselves. Besides, we are legally obligated considering Sony is both a US and Japanese corporation with joint assets in both, and the US by law has to protect the Japanese from attack, whether it be militarily or in this case an economic and terroristic cyber attack.

North Korea would either have to escalate the issue and in doing so provide global support for their complete obliteration, at which point we can finally end the regime and silence "best korea", or they do nothing and face economic ruin putting them back in the stone age and preventing them from having enough money to do much of anything to anyone.

You can't fix crazy. California big city liberals have been force-fed false information their whole lives. The whole structure of California society is broken beyond repair.

Fixed that for you...

On one hand, you need a third party doing the investigation so neither countries should be sending in people at all. On the other hand, if the shoe was on the other foot, and the US had been accused of manipulating the internet which led to an international investigation (Like say, reading the worlds emails), how aggressive would the US be in sending in their own analysts whether they're allowed to or not?

I'm certain that this attack was not orchestrated by the North Korean government. They like to boast to inflate their ultra-nationalist ego. If they actually did do it, they'd claim it. I'm surprised they're not claiming it in-spite of the fact they didn't do it.

Its a brilliant idea right up there with inviting serial killer suspects to a lecture on Police forensic techniques.

What we need is a KJUn look alike porn guy with a tiny dick. Then release all kinds of porn with him being dissed by women in favor of some guy with a big one. That's proportionate, sort of, right?

Yup, paranoia is a great way to perpetuate the stupidity and grudge holding of the past instead of moving forward and working for something that might be better than the status quo. I applaud you Mister Ostrich!
