NASA: All About That Space

Pretty funny....considering we don't even have a functioning space shuttle right now.

Unless I'm out of the loop.

They should have just had the girls strip naked in the Zero-G facility.

Tax payer dollars hard at work  not to mention that extra 2% budget bump might be to make up for this. lol

Well aren't you just all fucking business. Call a congressman and get them fired for that shit. That will show them.

well they deserve breaks and time to celebrate... as silly as this is
no accidents with Orion... yet.
however the SLS is a mix of American Saturn and Shuttle rocket tech.
this time around its the Right Rocket using very safe and effective payload capsules.
the American space program is not dead...
this is the path to mining asteroids$ and landing on humans on Mars.

Interns with too much time...or interns the real scientists were trying to get rid of

My god they cant even lipsync or dance in rhythm and yet we trust them with 12 million pounds of thrust?!

this is probably the most covered/parodied song of the year.

Hate the song with a passion (original is a no talent ass clown). Of course, I'm not a fan of most shitty pop music, anyway! If it works and sells, more power to them.

It's nice to see NASA doing stuff like this. Who knows, it might get more young people interested in space sciences! :)

Why does retarded shit like this need to be done to get young people into science? Did Albert Einstein or Wernher von Braun need such dreck to nudge them into their fields? A powerful, curious, and creative mind is a natural force that will find its own way.

Correct. There is nothing in between highly motivated absolute genius and complete aimless idiocy.

Are these the interns? Historically, NASA has always been old white guys.

There were actually several different songs produced for the video, this was just the only song tame enough for the "Old White Guys" to approve it.

(It probably reminded them of the song "How much is that doggie in the window?" that was popular back when they were interns)

The current "powerful, curious, creative minds" are all making millions in the financial sector.
NASA has to settle for the pop-culture-addicted leftovers.

Because back then the public in general had a great interest in this type of stuff. The government was all in but only because it was a dick waving contest between countries. A powerful, curious, and creative mind is less likely to go into a practically abandoned field -- those minds go into the tech and financial sectors.

We need to attract as many people as possible. This video was a fun project that put some nice twists on the song (for example, "go ahead and move along" changed into "join up and ride along" completely changing the meaning of that specific part while keeping it similar, and relevant).

Call it retarded all you want, if it attracts even one person into the field, then it's hugely beneficial to us all.
