So I'm doing a new build mostly for gaming, some encoding, need everything but a video card, OS, bulk HDD storage. Be doing about a 4.5GHz OC it seems. Here's what I have thus far:

380 4790k + GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK LGA 1150 Intel Z97 (is this a good deal for mobo?, CPU is 290 alone, ironegg, combo also has $20 MIR)

162 Phantom 630 (open to other case ideas but this is a pretty good deal, I'm keen on the extra space and 200m fans)

106 FSP Group AURUM 92+ 550W (essentially the best deal on platinum 550w modular I could find, reviews seem good, I like the 93% efficiency, as long as it's high quality reliable product, this is just great)

180 840 Pro 256GB (a true staple, unfortunately best price I can find, no deals or combos anywhere)

85 NH-D15 (ironegg black friday deal now, most likely best air cooler, have case to support it, only issue being ram clearance, but I could put the fans up higher with large case or maybe pulling from back)

So that just leaves 2*8GB DD3 and an optical.

Would really appreciate any advise or deal recommendations. For the DD3, I've seen a lot of different reports about ram, speed doesn't matter at all aside from a few special games, but I want to make sure it will support a 4.5GHz OC, so I'm not quite sure as of now, leaning towards cheap 1833.

I don't trust FSP in general. So I can't recommend that PSU.

That SSD isn't a good deal since the Samsung 840 Evo 500GB costs $220:

That HSF isn't actually a deal: It's only $5 less than its normal price. Hold off on that. Actually same goes for the case: That's not on sale either.

As for that motherboard, that's a good price but I can't say for sure if it's good like its non-black brothers.

As for the RAM, get this RAM as it's on sale:

No you do not need DDR3 1866 RAM.
