It seems Uber has to pull out of Nevada until it complies with the same rules taxis must abide by in that state.

It was the usual roll of objections that have stopped the service, since Uber vehicles aren't subject to the same safety, insurance and licensing rules that taxis are. The company, for its part, has pledged not to abandon the state, saying that it'll work with Nevada's leadership to come to a useful solution. Maybe at the same time it'll try to clean up its reputation after a series of blunders, gaffes and PR disasters.

for those that live in nevada and have at&t last samsung update has the uber app built in... sucks i can't get rid of it unless the phone is rooted... oh well... useless anyways.

And this is why government shouldn't be allowed to regulate or tax.

They should just pull out and say "if you want uber in your state, vote out the taxi lobby politicians".

The taxi cartel here is pretty powerful. If there was one piece of Vegas that still has old mob influence, it is probably them.
