Hello,

I know I've asked in the last few years about a new monitor but main reason was that my monitor was dying actually using a 19" CRT screen which is fricking horrible.

I am in the process of updating my computer, more accurately replacing it.

Ive been looking at the BenQ BL3200PT but the things pricy. I really want something at or over 27 Inches
I'm not a hard core gamer I do game but 120hz inst something I'm looking for motion blur and such doesn't bother me.

My budget it 400$ if I have to spend more to get a better monitor that doesn't bother me.
But I'd like to stick to around 400$
Though I will not buy a Koren monitor or off Ebay I'm not a brand whore but getting warranties and better RMA's plus replacements is a a huge plus.

Monitors are a daunting research sink.

You might want to take a second look at the Korean offerings - Green-sum has some pretty good deals going right now. With e-bay purchase protection and a square trad warranty they can be a good choice. This panel appears to be the same as the Yamakasi catleap q270 but has HDMI inputs for $259:

He also has the overclockable catleap for $299

Or the crossover 27QW (I have the yamaksi DS270 version of this - great panel for text and programming) for $259:

You can also get the Monoprice AH-IPS for $299 - multiple inputs and solid reviews with a 1 year US warranty:

These are all 2560 x1440 27" monitors.

I personally use a Acer H6 H276HLbmid which I use at home for gaming with my nVidia 980 card. It is a IPS panel which has performed well, however, there are no VESA mounting holes and the buttons are at the bottom of the screen. I picked it up on special last spring for $209, and it currently lists for $249.

The other monitor that I just picked up was a BenQ GL2760H which was on sale earlier this week for $159. This is a TN panel, and so far, it is looking good. However, no comment on gaming... I got it for work partially because it has VESA holes and so that I can see things a little bit better.

Both monitors have a max resolution of 1920x1080, and both have DVI/HDMI/D-sub ports (no displaylink). The refresh rate is 60Hz.

The Acer monitor, BTW, was a replacement for a ASUS VK266H which I gave to my mother. That monitor, in turn, was a replacement for a CRT monitor that had gone bad.

I had forgotten about mono price.
Whats the quality control on the mono price monitors. That is a nice deal on the 27 INch monitor.

I have one on order - appear to be a few issues from the reviews but Monoprice seems to have a good panel guaranty for replacement. I have a Yamakasi ds270 that I love and still works well but it only has a DVI-D input. I was trying to find an option that had the same panel but with HDMI and display port inputs. The Korean versions are running about $370 for this option. When Monoprice dropped the price to 299, for the same panel and options, I decided to jump on it. Here is a review on the Monoprice:

NCX also has some nice reviews for a number of 27" 2560x1440 panels:

I am coming from a 1680x1050 20.1 inch 8.5 year old screen. For color blackness depth and all that would the mono price 27in IPS-Glass Panel Pro LED Monitor WQHD 2560x1440- 440cd/m2 - HDMI® / DVI / VGA / DisplayPort 1.2 w/Built in Speakers
be an improvement.

400 is an good price would IPS glow stuck pixels and other uniformity problems be worth it.
hell a quality monitor from this one would be like another 250 or more.

If I do go that route the monoprice what magnitude of problems dictates me sending it back for another one.(how many times can I send it back)(is their shipping cost going back to monoprice.)

The monoprice is going for $299, not $400! From reading the reviews, Monoprice will send you a prepaid shipping label if it is defective.
