In a newly released report, 81% of Tor users are still vulnerable to being identified by IP address through a process called Traffic Confirmation, that measures and matches up large amounts of data traffic originating from Tor nodes.

The Tor Project has responded to the claims via a blog post in which it explains that the network has never been designed to combat a technique such as traffic confirmation.

Good point. We are $18 trillion in debt. Why is Obama still wasting money to illegally spy on everyone. Cut the NSA budget.

I love it... Obama is the source of all evil... (huh just like Bush Jr was a few years back).

Amazing how that works:)

Thing many don't think about is that neither party wants to reduce spending. They don't get election money from cutting tax breaks and funding to their supporters. Their supporters don't care about what you gave them last time, cause they already have it. They might throw in some $$$ if said funding is at risk, but for the most part they want new funding.

Thus it turns into a game of who can cut the "others" supporters funding, while shifting those same funds to "their" supporters.

Government will always continue to grow as long as elections are won with money.

Man that's a lot of organized criminals, pedophiles, drug and human traffickers that can be identified.

And ISIS sympathisers and similar types about to embark on a trip into terrorism.

The executive branch is in charge of the NSA. Obama could put a stop to anything they are doing, if he wanted.

Don't forget bitcoin exchanges/miners, libertarian Koch brother drones, gun salespeople, and people trying to hide cheating on their spouses. I mean we might as well get all the worst people in there since we know they're all trying to hide what they're doing.

But instead of identifying organized criminals, pedophiles, drug and human traffickers they'd rather crack down on "threats" to their power over us.

Not news.

TOR has been compromised for years.

All using TOR accomplishes these days is drawing attention to yourself. If you have something to hide, you are better off not using anything at all.

You wouldn't believe it but the latest fad to get drugs and guns is to meet up in dark alleys and do a quick hand-over, it's all thanks to NSA keeping tabs on TOR :D

Remember that time the US had no debt? the great depression...good times, the debt is far from being unmanageable and the US debt-to-GDP ratio is lower than several countries

I think using something like Tor might catch some eyes and draw attention to yourself. I don't trust it at all.

You do know that congress sets the budget, the president hasn't set the budget since Nixon.

Ask the republicans who were just voted in why they voted down a bill to cut the NSA funding

Look, American party politics in a thread about how lame TOR is at hiding pedophiles from being thrown in jail where they belong.

The bill to reduce NSA funding also extended the Patriot Act.

Ask the Democrats why they want to extend the Patriot Act.

But the republicans are going to have a fit over anything he does. They'll say he is making America less secure and the AM radio stations will say he's an ISIS sympathizer.

Not really, the President is Commander and Chief, but it has nothing to do with the Executive Branch although the President runs that of course. It's like saying your the president of the book club and class president, doesn't mean the book club runs the class.

The Cabinet includes the Vice President and the heads of 15 executive departments — the Secretaries of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Labor, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs, as well as the Attorney General.

The only member of the Cabinet that has any power of the DoD is of course the SecDef. Now if the President dies then here is the order of succession for President;

Vice President of the United States
Department of State
Department of the Treasury
* Department of Defense
Department of Justice
Department of the Interior
Department of Agriculture
Department of Commerce
Department of Labor
Department of Health and Human Services
Department of Housing and Urban Development
Department of Transportation
Department of Energy

Of course when you reach down to #4, the DoD sorta becomes all in charge of itself in a way :D
Department of Education

Department of Veterans Affairs

Department of Homeland Security
