What kind of gaming could I do with this laptop?

I am getting the following laptop as a gift. I am going to install a SSD (120gb or 240gb) and win7 on it (comes with vista)

What kind of games would I be able to run on this?

Basic games - Apples for apples, that 8800M has only 64 or 96 cores, which doesn't even line up well with a 620M or 720M graphics card having a similar number of cores.

Performance will likely be on par with today's integrated graphics, if it even performs that well. That laptop is just too old for games.

But - An Intel T8300 / SLAYQ processor will pep that right up (at 2.4Ghz) for only $15 on Ebay.

so the 8800 graphics card is equivalent of say todays integrated HD4000?

Also, is this the CPU I should buy?

dude that is a prehistoric laptop
get a cheap generic 4th gen i5 laptop plus with a discrete GPU like an AMD or Nvidia GTX and your good to go with casual gaming like me
