Will upgrading from my HP ZR24w to a Dell U2415 be worth the upgrade? I game mostly, I am looking for an upgrade in color accuracy and black levels. Is it finally time for me to upgrade or this won't be much of an upgrade to make it worth it?

Thx

I'd look for something a little bigger like a 27" and maybe even 1440p. The Viewsonic VP2770 for $650 seems to be one of the better IPS screens that are also suitable for gaming. This is on my short list for monitor upgrades.

That said, the BenQ XL2820Z is a 1080 27" screen that is 144Hz and gets very good reviews. It's $450 and also on my short list.

I'd suggest the Asus Swift but they're overpriced and nearly impossible to find.

None of those links work, but I'll do some research on the viewsonic but I want an IPS panel so the BenQ is off the list.

My bad. Made the post from my phone and I guess it used mobile links in the address. Theyre fixed now.

The BenQ is 10% off right now til the 13th which makes it $423 shipped. Not bad at all.

Here's a review on it.

Well if i go with a view sonic how about the http://www.viewsonic.com/us/monitors/professional-vp-series/vp2772.html ?

Or is that more of a photo monitor and won't really benefit with gaming? Might be a bit over kill.....i dont know..

Im not entirely sure either. Im not a monitor expert but I do frequent the review sites. The 2772 is a little overpriced as far as I can tell when compared to the 2770. The picture is slightly better but I dont think it would be enough that you would notice unless compared directly side by side. For $350 more, I dont think it would be worth it.

Here is a review of the 2772.

The VP2770 is 200$ overpriced compared to the AOC Q2770QPU and BenQ BL2710PT and the VP2772 is an extreme waste of money unless used for work with colour managed programs. Wide gamut monitors like the VP2772 are worse for consumer media use since they glow more than the standard gamut options.

Best 27" 1440p Monitors

What about the BL3200PT? 32", 2560x1440 and pretty good reviews and seems to have decent enough speed for gaming, at least for a "non-gaming" panel. Does look like the best option if you would like to go to something big like a 32".

Going for $675 right now on Newegg.
